1. The 2015 PGA Championship was played at a beautiful course in Kohler, Wisconsin. What is the name of this course whose name was inspired by the strong winds and white-capped waves?

Answer: Whistling Straits

The 2015 PGA Championship was the third time that the event had been held at Whistling Straits as it had previously been held there in 2004 and 2010. The 2015 PGA Championship played at just over 7,500 yards and had an elevation change of eighty feet.
2. Going into the 2015 PGA Championship the number one ranked player in the world had been nursing an ankle injury and had committed to play in the tournament just several days before the start. Who was this player from Northern Ireland that finished the tournament 17th at nine-under par?

Answer: Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy had ruptured a ligament in his left ankle in early July which caused him to miss the 2015 Open Championship. At the 2015 PGA Championship McIlroy was under par every round but he never provided a serious challenge to the leaders. After the tournament he fell in the world golf rankings to second (replaced by Jordan Spieth).
3. A total of 15 former PGA Championship winners appeared at the 2015 PGA Championship. Which player from Germany, that had previously won in 2010, finished in 12th place at -10, the highest position of any former winner of the tournament?

Answer: Dustin Johnson

Johnson finished the first round with five birdies, an eagle, and just one bogey. Dustin Johnson had an eventful final round to say the least as he had two eagles, six birdies, three bogeys, a quadruple bogey, and just six pars. Matt Kuchar and Dustin Johnson both finished at -12 to tie for seventh place.
5. The second round of the 2015 PGA Championship featured some very low scores and one player actually tied a major championship record with a nine-under par 63. Who was this player (from Japan), that had shot a five-over par 77 in round one?

Answer: Hiroshi Iwata

While Iwata caught fire in the second round, he wasn't able to muster the same type of scores over the third and fourth rounds and he finished in 21st place at seven-under par. During the second round Iwata had a stretch of seven holes where he made five birdies, an eagle, and a par.

9. Which player finished the 2015 PGA Championship in second place at -17 to cap off a masterful 2015 major season, in which he won twice and finished in the top five at all four events?

Answer: Jordan Spieth

Possibly more so than any other player during the 2015 majors Spieth was able to bounce back from holes played over par and he rarely three-putted. By finishing the 2015 PGA Championship in second place Jordan Spieth became the number one ranked golfer in the world (he displaced Rory McIlroy).

Prior to his win at the 2015 PGA Championship Jason Day had finished second at a major three times. Day was incredibly consistent at the 2015 PGA Championship as his round scores were 68-67-66-67.

His final score of 20-under par set a record for the PGA Championship.
