Answer: Rory McIlroy

McIlroy's injury occurred a few weeks before the 2015 Open Championship and he did not want to risk long term injury by trying to participate with a ruptured ligament. Rory McIlory won the 2014 Open Championship played at Royal Liverpool Golf Club when he finished with a scorching -17 after four rounds to win by two strokes.
