1. Who managed Birmingham City in its first year in the Premiership?

Answer: Steve Bruce

Steve Bruce actually joined Birmingham in October 2001, replacing Trevor Francis. Mark Hughes and Bryan Robson were teammates of Bruce at Manchester United. Bruce was a strong and courageous centre back, but was often known for poaching late goals when attacking from set-pieces.

Answer: 13th

Unlucky for some, Birmingham did a great job finishing in 13th place, as many pundits tipped them for relegation. They even finished three points ahead of arch rivals Aston Villa.
3. Who was the club's record summer signing before the season started?

Answer: Clinton Morrison

Clinton Morrison became the Blues' record signing, joining from Crystal Palace. The Republic of Ireland International used his speed and skills to be a hero for the Blues. Andy Johnson went the other way, also part of the deal.

The Republic Of Ireland International defender Jeff Kenna led the Blues out on to the pitch against Arsenal at Highbury. Kenna was a hard tackling Right Back, and had a Premier League winners medal with Blackburn.

There were two. Ferdinand Coly and Aliou Cisse were from Senegal. They both played in the 2002 World Cup. Coly arrived on loan from Lens, and Aliou Cisse joined on a undisclosed fee from Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
9. Which World Cup winner joined the Blues in the January tranfer window on loan, to help confirm their status in the Premier League?

Answer: Christophe Dugarry

The French World Cup 1998 winner Christophe Dugarry joined on loan from Bourdeaux. His experience paid off, and scored a number of vital goals to help Birmingham survive. He impressed the Blues so much, that he was signed as a permanent player for the 2003-04 season.
10. Birmingham played their home games at the St. James Park in the 2002-03 season?

Birminham had been playing at their beloved St. Andrews Stadium since 1906. It has since been constantly upgraded to meet 21st century standards.
