Answer: Derek Bell

Bell made his MLB debut in 1991 for the Toronto Blue Jays. He played in the Little League World Series in 1980 and 81 and the Junior League World Series in 1982. He also played with the Padres, Astros, Mets and Pirates in his MLB career. His World Series championship came in 1992 with the Blue Jays.

Answer: Gary Sheffield

Sheffield and Derek Bell (The answer to question one of this quiz) were teammates on the 1982 JLWS winning team, but never played together in the majors. Sheffield blasted 509 home runs during his 22 season career. He was a member of the 1997 World Series champion Florida Marlins team.

Answer: Valentin

Jose and Javier Valentin both played in the JLWS, representing Puerto Rico and later each had long MLB careers.

Jose Valentin played 16 seasons in the majors, he had a career .243 batting average and hit 249 homeruns. Javier Valentin played in parts of 10 seasons and had a career .251 batting average with 45 homeruns. Jose was once traded for fellow JLWS alumnus Gary Sheffield.

Answer: Erik Bedard

Bedard made his MLB debut in 2002, pitching just 2/3rds of an inning over two appearances. He then returned to the majors in 2004 as a full time starting pitcher for Baltimore. He stayed in Baltimore through the 2007 season before moving on to Seattle, Boston, Pittsburgh, Houston and Tampa Bay before his retirement. Overall he won 64 games against 68 losses in his 11 seasons.

Answer: Brett Myers

Myers made his MLB debut in the 2002 season with the Phillies, where he would play for a total of eight seasons, racking up 73 of his 97 career victories. His best season was in 2009 when he posted 14 victories and a 3.14 earned run average.

Answer: Erubiel Durazo

Durazo had his career cut short by injuries and only played in parts of 7 seasons. He was a member of the Diamondbacks and had his best season in 2004 with the Athletics. 2005 would be his final season in the majors. After rehabbing from injuries he bounced around various minor league teams and in the Mexican league before officially retiring in 2010.

Answer: Chad Hermansen

Chad Hermansen hit .207 in 100 games with Pittsburgh and the Chicago Cubs in 2002. But he never played more than 35 games in any other season. He played 139 career games in Pittsburgh over 3.5 seasons. 35 games in a partial season with the Cubs, 11 games with the Dodgers and 4 games with the Blue Jays before calling it a career in 2004.

Answer: Delino DeShields

Delino DeShields played for five teams in his 13 seasons. He debuted for Montreal in 1990, and went on to play for the Dodgers, Orioles, Cardinals and Cubs before retiring in 2002. He had just 80 career home runs, but he stole 463 bases.

Answer: Shannon Withem

Shannon Withem was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 1990 draft. Eight years later he made his debut with the Toronto Blue Jays and pitched well. He pitched three innings and gave up just one earned run, while striking out two. The game was played Sept. 18 of that season. He played in Japan in the 1999 season before an injury ended his career.

Answer: Adam Loewen

Loewen played his first three MLB seasons as a pitcher for the Orioles. He posted an 8-8 record through the 2008 season. After a serious injury he could no longer pitch and chose to transition into playing in the outfield and occasionally at first base. He made his position player debut with the Blue Jays in the 2011 season.

Eventually he decided to try pitching again. He returned to the MLB as a pitcher in the 2015 season with the Phillies where he pitched 20 games in relief.
