1. What year were the club formed?

Answer: 1885

They were formed as Bury FC and played their first game at Gigg Lane in September of 1885 against Wigan.
2. Who was the first manager in Bury's history?

Answer: T Hargreaves

Hargreaves managed the club for four months between January and May 1887. Hamer then took over for a further ten years, before Montgomery was installed between 1907-15. After Word War I, Cameron took charge until 1923.
3. What is Bury's nickname?

Answer: The Shakers

Then chairman of the club, JT Ingham invented this nickname by stating that Everton would be 'given a shaking', before a Lancashire Senior Cup match.
4. From which club did Bury sign Andy Preece?

Answer: Blackpool

Preece began his career at non-league Evesham in 1987, and subsequently played for Northampton Town, Worcester City, Wrexham, Stockport County, Crystal Palace, Blackpool, and signed for Bury on a free transfer in 1998. He became the club's manager in 1999.
