Charlton have had numerous home grounds in their history, but most notorious is The Valley, in which they had three spells.
2. Who was the club's first manager in their history?

Answer: Bill Rayner

Rayner managed the club for five years between 1920-25, followed by McFarlane (1925-27), Lindon for four months in 1927, before McFarlane stepped into the hot seat again until 1932, when Seed became manager for 23 years until 1956.
3. Which club did Charlton sign Dean Kiely from in 1999?

Answer: Bury

Kiely has been at all these clubs, starting his career at Coventry between 1987-90. He went on-loan to Ipswich for one month, before moving to York between 1990-96. He was signed by Bury, and played there until a move to Charlton in 1999.
4. In what season were Charlton first elected into the Football League?

Answer: 1921-22

Charlton finished 16th out of 22 teams in the 1921-22 Division Three (South) season with 37 points from 42 games.
