Having broken the winning 'jinx' he had for so many years, it was the start of many more victories and two championships for Hakkinen. There were two GPs in Spain in 1997. One in Barcelona, which was the official Spanish GP which was won by Jacques Villeneuve, and the one in Jerez, which went under the name of the European GP, which Mika won.
