Answer: San Francisco Giants

The Giants beat the Tigers in a 4-0 sweep. It was their 7th title, in their 19th World Series appearance, to leave them tied for 3rd in the all-time standings behind the Yankees with 27 wins (in 40 appearances), Cardinals with 11 (in 18). The Red Sox had 7 in 11.
2. Who won the 2019 Cy Young Award?

Answer: Justin Verlander

Justin Verlander (Houston Astros) won his second Cy Young in 2019. He won his first in 2011.
3. What team traded Babe Ruth away in 1919 and supposedly earned the "Curse of the Bambino?"

Answer: Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox traded Ruth to the Yankees in 1919. The Red Sox (who'd won the World Series in 1918) would not win another World Series till 2004. The Yankees would start winning with Babe Ruth (they had won zero when Babe Ruth arrived).

Answer: Washington Nationals

The Nationals beat the Astros in the 2019 World Series in seven games, for their first win in their first-ever appearance in a World Series. The Boston Red Sox beat the LA Dodgers to win the World Series in 2018 but did not make the playoffs in 2019. The Kansas City Royals (winners of the World Series in 2015), finished the season in 4th place in the American League Central.

Answer: Jose Altuve

Altuve beat Judge with an incredible .346 batting average. Blake Snell would win the Cy Young award in 2018. Justin Verlander won the Cy Young award for the second time in 2019. Aaron Judge set the rookie homerun record (with 52) for the MLB in 2017 which was beaten by Pete Alonso in 2019 (with 53).

Answer: Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Cubs twice and then to the Pirates. The Tigers lost 4-0 in 1907 in five games. The first game was still a tie after twelve innings so the game ended. The Tigers lost 4-1 in 1908 against the Cubs again. The Tigers got close in the 1909 series but still lost in seven games 4-3 to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Tigers would not win there first World Series until 1935 when they beat the Cubs 4-2, in their 5th appearance (their 4th appearance was the season before, when they lost 4-3 to the Cardinals in the 1934 World Series).
7. Who won the 2017 World Series?

Answer: Houston Astros

The Houston Astros won their first-ever World Series by defeating the Dodgers 4-3. The Milwaukee Brewers lost the National League Championship Series in seven games. The Astros beat the Yankees in the American League Championship Series in seven games also.
8. In what year was Derek Jeter elected to the Hall Of Fame?

Answer: 2020

Jeter got elected in his first year of eligibility. He was one vote shy of being the second player unanimously voted into the Hall Of Fame (achieved by Mariano Rivera in 2019).
9. Who won the 2018 American League Cy Young award?

Answer: Blake Snell

Blake Snell had an amazing year. Max Scherzer is an NL pitcher who has won multiple Cy Young awards. Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander were in the conversation for Cy Young in 2019. Justin Verlander won the Cy Young award in 2019, but came in second in 2018.
10. Which pitcher, from the mid 1960s to the early 1990s, had seven no-hitters?

Answer: Nolan Ryan

Nolan Ryan had seven while the other three each had three no-hitters. Nolan Ryan's first no hitter was in May of 1973 and his last was in May of 1991.
