Ta Mo, known also by his Idian name Bodhidharma. Went to China on a mission to spread the teachings of Buddha. He came to stay at the Sil Lum Monastary, where he noticed that while the monks were dedicated ot the practice, the long hours of meditation was making them fall asleep.

There bodies were becoming weak. So he taught the monks a set of 18 exercises, which later on became the basis for Shaolin Kung Fu.
