Answer: Jose "Pepe" Reina

Reina represented Barcelona and Villarreal before being signed to Liverpool. He was pretty good at saving penalties, as in 2004-05 for Villarreal. He saved seven out of the nine spot kicks he faced.

Answer: Harry Kewell

Kewell was an Australian international who when transferred to Liverpool from Leeds caused major controversy. Kewell turned down approaches and big money offers from Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea to join Liverpool. Harry was named Leeds Player of the Year for 1999-2000.

All of the players were on Liverpool's list for the 2005 season. Raven was the only player who was not a goal keeper as he in fact was a defender. Chris Kirkland was considered still on the list despite being on season loan to West Bromwich Albion.

Gerrard was the driving force of the team and when he was on the top of his game Liverpool usually won. He signed a new four-year contract in the summer of 2005 and put an end to the speculation about his future. At one stage he had announced his decision to leave Liverpool most likely for Chelsea, however only days later he expressed his desire to stay with the club.

What a game it was! Liverpool trailed 3-0 at halftime yet fought back, led brilliantly by captain Steven Gerrard. They scored three goals in under 10 minutes to level the game at 3-3. At the end of extra time the scores remained at 3-3 so penalties decided the match, which Liverpool won.

Fernando Morientes will be remembered as a world class striker with the ability to score goals at any level. On loan in 2003-04 at Monaco he was the top scorer in the Champions League with nine goals as the French side reached the final. Morientes has a fantastic international scoring record as well.

He made a stunning international debut when he scored twice in the first five minutes of Spain's win over Sweden in 1998.

Answer: Djibril Cisse

Djibril Cisse made an amazing recovery from a broken leg and returned to action in April 2005, in time to score an important penalty in the Champions League win over AC Milan.

Answer: Rafael Benitez

Rafael Benitez was the first Spaniard to manage Liverpool, and he led the club to their fifth European Cup win in his first season at Anfield. Before arriving at Liverpool he led Valencia to a league and UEFA Cup double. It was Valencia's second La Liga title in three years under Benitez.

In his first season in charge at Valencia, he led the club to their first La Liga title for 31 years. He was the driving force behind signings such as, Peter Crouch, Momo Sissoko, Fernando Morientes and Boudewijn Zenden.

Answer: Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher truly was the epitome of the Liverpool spirit. He always gave 100% and was a brilliant defender. He fought back from a broken leg which kept him out for six months in the 2003-04 season. He has played over 300 first team games for Liverpool and was a member of Liverpool's youth side.

Answer: Jerzy Dudek

Dudek, the Polish international keeper, was the hero for Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan when he saved two penalties in the shoot-out. There was much debate following the match as it appeared Dudek moved off his line prior to the shots being taken. Dudek also made a sensational double save to stop Andriy Schevchenko winning the match for Milan. Dudek signed for Liverpool in Augest 2001.
