Joe hit .297, 2,342 hits and 252 homers in his 18-year career. He played for four different teams and never had a chance to make the playoffs with any of those teams. But Torre as a coach in his later life won four World Series titles with the Yankees.

At the age of 32, he started 34 games, completed 28, went 22-9, led the league with an incredible 1.12 ERA (yes the mound was higher...), had 13 shutouts, 268 strikeouts, won the Cy Young and MVP Awards and took his team to the World Series only to lose against an incredible Detroit team.
