Answer: Carl Yastrzemski

Yaz of the Red Sox had just batted for the Triple Crown in 1967 and won the American League MVP Award. He batted a mere .301 in 1968 and took the batting crown over Danny Cater of the Oakland Athletics who batted .290. 2. They lost the most World Series in the 1960s.

Answer: Yankees

The Yankees were still shining as a franchise and went to five World Series in the decade. They lost to Bill Mazeroski and the Pirates in 1960, beat the Reds and Giants in 1961 and 1962, then were skunked by the Dodgers on 1963. The Yankees then lost to the Cardinals in seven games in 1964.

The franchise would not see another World Series until 1976 in a four game skunking against the Reds and their 'Big Red Machine'.

In 1968 he won the Cy Young Award along with the NL MVP, then another Cy Young in 1970. Nine times in his career he threw more than 200 strikeouts in a season. In the 1960s, he led all pitchers with 2071 strikeouts in the decade.
