1. Which team led all teams in wins for the 2004 season?

Answer: St. Louis Cardinals

The others did not win even 90 games. Only two teams reached the 100 plateau. The Yankees won 101 games while the Cardinals won 105.
2. Who took the Major League home run crown in 2004?

Answer: Adrian Beltre

Beltre smacked 48 big ones. Adrian was in his seventh Major League season, all with the Dodgers.
3. There were only three pitchers in 2004 that reached the 20-win milestone. Who took the crown by winning 21?

Answer: Curt Schilling

Although Clemens had a great season winning 18, Schilling of the Red Sox took the crown. Johan Santana of Minnesota, and Roy Oswalt of the Astros, were the other two 20-game winners.
4. Which team had the unfortunate distinction of having the worst record in the season?

Answer: Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks of Arizona won only 51 games against 111 losses. They ended the season with a two game winning streak.
5. Which team said good-bye to their city after 35 seasons?

Answer: Expos

The Expos began their franchise in Montreal in 1969. The Expos never saw a World Series but did win two division crowns. The team moved to Washington D.C.
6. Who broke a record in 2004, set by George Sisler in 1920?

Answer: Ichiro Suzuki

Ichiro of the Mariners smacked 262 hits, breaking Sisler's record of 257 with the St. Louis Browns. Suzuki batted .372, while Sisler batted .407 in his record setting season.
7. Which was the only team to win more than 50 games on the road?

Answer: St. Louis

An amazing road record of 52-29 coupled with their home record of 53-28, saw the Cardinals with the best record in baseball for 2004.
8. Which Pirate led both leagues by getting hit by a pitch 30 times in the season?

Answer: Craig Wilson

The others listed were not Pirates. Wilson, in his fourth Major League season, all with Pittsburgh, had been hit 71 times in the four seasons.
9. How many pitchers struck out 300+ batters in the season?

Answer: 0

Randy Johnson of the Diamondbacks led both leagues by fanning 290. It was Johnson's ninth strikeout title. Johan Santana of the Twins was second with 265.
10. Which team played their home games in Bank One Ballpark?

Answer: Arizona

And not many wins there were for the Diamondbacks at home. Having the worst team record in the season, Arizona won only 29 home games.
