1. 1989, 90

Answer: Detroit Pistons

The 1989 finals were a rematch of 1988, but with the Pistons besting the Lakers this time. The Pistons won the rematch 4-0 after Byron Scott missed the entire series and Magic Johnson missed the last 2.5 games, both with hamstring injuries. Joe Dumars was the MVP.

In 1990 the Pistons repeated as champions with a 4-1 win over the Trailblazers. Isiah Thomas was the MVP.
2. 1991-93

Answer: Chicago Bulls

The Bulls and star Michael Jordan won their first three championships in these years. In 1991 they beat the Lakers 4-1. In 1992 they beat the Blazers 4-2 and in 1993 they beat the Suns 4-2. Jordan was the MVP all three times.
3. 1994 and 1995

Answer: Houston Rockets

When Michael Jordan retired following three straight championships it opened the door for others to win. The Rockets won back-to-back titles with Hakeem Olajuwon as the MVP both years. in 1994 they beat the Knicks 4-3. In 1995 they beat the Magic 4-0.
4. 1996-98

Answer: Chicago Bulls

Michaal Jordan returned to basketball late in 1995, and in his first full season back in Chicago in 1996 they started a second 3-peat. In 1996 they beat the Sonics 4-2 and in 1997 and 1998 they beat the Jazz 4-2 both times. Jordan was once again the MVP all three times and once again retired after the 3 titles.
5. 1999

Answer: San Antonio Spurs

The spurs bested the Knicks 4-1 in the finals. The Knicks were the first 8 seed to earn a spot in the finals since the playoffs expanded to 16 teams. Tim Duncan was the MVP. It was the first title for the Spurs in their history.
6. 2000-02

Answer: Los Angeles Lakers

Phil Jackson, having already coached the Bulls to 6 championships won his third 3-pete with the Lakers and stars Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. They beat the Pacers 4-2 in 2000. In 2001 they beat the 76ers 4-1 and in 2002 they beat the nets 4-0. O'Neal was the MVP each season.
7. 2003

Answer: San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs knocked off the Lakers in the western conference and went on to beat the Nets 4-2 in the finals. It was the second straight finals appearance for the Nets. Tim Duncan was the MVP.
8. 2004

Answer: Detroit Pistons

In 2004 the Lakers returned the finals for a 4th time in 5 seasons, but were bested by the Pistons 4-1. It was the third title for the Pistons franchise. Chauncey Billups was the MVP. Laker's coach Phil Jackson lost his first finals series in 10 tries.
9. 2005

Answer: San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs bested the defending champion Pistons in a 7 game series to win the title. Tim Duncan won his third finals MVP award. He lead his team in minutes, points, blocks and rebounds for the series.
10. 2006

Answer: Miami Heat

Dwayne Wade was the MVP for the Heat as they bested the Mavericks 4-2. Shaquille O'Neal was also on the team, marking his 4th championship and third different team he'd played in the finals with. The Mavericks had won both regular season matchups between the teams, meaning they went 4-4 against each other for the season.
