Question 1 of 10
1. In 27 seasons of baseball, I, Nolan Ryan set a career record with 5714 strikeouts. I began my career with the Mets, then wore the hat of an Angel. I then traded my Angel hat in for an Astro hat. After the Astros, I retired wearing which team's hat? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. I have quite a hat collection. I own hats from Oakland, the Yankees, Blue Jays, Padres, Angels, Mariners, Red Sox, and just placed my 2003 Dodger hat on the rack. I thought that teams would want me because I am such a thief, and had led the league 12 times in stolen bases. Who am I? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. I played for five different teams over 21 seasons. After having the pleasure of playing for the Orioles in 12 seasons, I then played with the Dodgers for three. Then it was on to the Mets' organization for three seasons before an almost three year stint as an Indian. Before that third season was up, I came back to Baltimore to hit my 500th home run. In 1997, I retired after being an Angel and a Dodger, and hung up my cleats with 504 home runs. Who am I? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Which of the following was part of a team, and "wore that hat" for 50 years? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. I was in the top ten for the Cy Young four times in my career. I pitched for the Twins, Rangers, Pirates, Indians, and Angels. I pretty much nailed my own coffin when I set a record for allowing 50 home runs in 1986, then allowed another 46 the following season. Who am I? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. After all I did for the Tigers too! I won 11 batting titles, 6 stolen base crowns, a Triple Crown, and an American League MVP. After 22 seasons, they let me go to the Athletics of Philadelphia. Who am I? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. I wore many different hats in my baseball career. As a player, I wore the hats of the Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Tigers, Indians, Reds, and the Braves. As a manager, I first wore a Twins hat, but that didn't work out since I punched out one of my pitchers in a bar. I then managed and wore the hats of the Tigers, Rangers, Yankees, Oakland, then another one with the Yankees. 1988 was my last season managing, and I died in 1989. Who am I? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. For many years I wore a San Francisco Giants hat. If our hats had numbers on them, you would have seen the number 44. I also wore hats that belonged to the Padres and Athletics. I was a true slugger, but was greatly overshadowed by the immortal Willie Mays. My 521 home runs quietly went into the record books. As I 'stretch' I ask you, what is my name? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. I put on my first hat when I was only 15 years old. I have always thanked the Reds for giving me the chance to set an age record. After 10 seasons in Cincinnati, I went to the Athletics of Kansas City, then the Angels of Los Angeles, then back to the Reds again. I retired in 1966. Who am I? Hint

Question 10 of 10

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 27 seasons of baseball, I, Nolan Ryan set a career record with 5714 strikeouts. I began my career with the Mets, then wore the hat of an Angel. I then traded my Angel hat in for an Astro hat. After the Astros, I retired wearing which team's hat?

Answer: Texas Rangers

After 27 seasons, Ryan retired in 1993 with all kinds of records. Including setting a record for no-hitters, he once owned almost every conceivable mark. The only award that eluded Nolan was the Cy Young Award.
Who am I?

Answer: Rickey Henderson

Playing in the 2003 season with the Dodgers, Rickey had already made 13 moves in 25 seasons. He also set a career stolen base mark.
From beginning his career as the 1977 Rookie of the Year, and finishing it with over 500 home runs, Eddie was inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame in 2003.
4. Which of the following was part of a team, and "wore that hat" for 50 years?

Answer: Connie Mack

Mack managed the Philadelphia Athletics from 1901-1950, an amazing streak which will probably never to be surpassed. 50 years as an Athletic manager wasn't the entire story. He managed the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1894-1896, and also played for 11 seasons ending in 1896.
5. I was in the top ten for the Cy Young four times in my career. I pitched for the Twins, Rangers, Pirates, Indians, and Angels. I pretty much nailed my own coffin when I set a record for allowing 50 home runs in 1986, then allowed another 46 the following season. Who am I?

Answer: Bert Blyleven

Blyleven began his career as a Twin in 1970, and retired as an Angel in 1992. In 1984, he lost the Cy Young to Willie Hernandez and Dan Quisenbery, then in 1985, he lost it to Bret Saberhagen and Ron Guidry.
6. After all I did for the Tigers too! I won 11 batting titles, 6 stolen base crowns, a Triple Crown, and an American League MVP. After 22 seasons, they let me go to the Athletics of Philadelphia. Who am I?

Answer: Ty Cobb

After 22 seasons, the Tigers let him go in 1927. The Athletics graciously accepted him too. With the Athletics in his final two seasons, Cobb was still in the top five of many season categories. He also batted .357 and .323 his final two seasons. Cobb was one of the inaugural five, inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame in 1936.

I then managed and wore the hats of the Tigers, Rangers, Yankees, Oakland, then another one with the Yankees. 1988 was my last season managing, and I died in 1989. Who am I?

Answer: Billy Martin

Martin played 2nd base with numerous teams. His managerial record was 1253-1013, and won two World Series in 1977 and 1978 with the Yankees. His on-again off-again feud with Yankee owner George Steinbrenner was well documented.

I was a true slugger, but was greatly overshadowed by the immortal Willie Mays. My 521 home runs quietly went into the record books. As I 'stretch' I ask you, what is my name?
