Answer: Edmonton Oilers

To get there, the Edmonton Oilers made the playoffs by clinching the 8th and final playoff spot. They upset the 1st place Detroit Red Wings by beating them in 6 games, then turned their sticks towards the San Jose Sharks whom they also beat in 6. Then they went duck-hunting, as they defeated the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in 5 games to advance to the Stanley Cup final and win the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy.
9. Which team won the Prince of Wales Trophy as the winner of the Eastern Conference in the playoffs?

Answer: Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes earned the award by first clinching the 2nd seed in the playoffs. Then they defeated the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs in 6 games. They then took down the New Jersey Devils in 5 games and then defeated the Buffalo Sabres in 7 games to advance to the Stanley Cup final and thus, win the Prince of Wales Trophy.

Answer: Carolina Hurricanes
