1. What 20th Century player had led the Major League the most seasons in walks?

Answer: Babe Ruth

Ruth had the lead leading eagle-eye award 11 seasons in his career, the last being in 1933. Mel Ott leads the National League with 6 league leading seasons.
2. Which of the following professional baseball players became a professional golfer?

Answer: Ken Harrelson

Harrelson changed the ball in his career. Sammy Byrd who was Babe Ruth's backup player also became a professional golfer.
3. Who was the first Major Leaguer to also have won the Heisman Trophy for football?

Answer: Vic Janowicz

Janowicz was one of the last great single-wing tailbacks. He won the Heisman as a junior in 1950 with Ohio State. He was signed by the Pirates but after two uneventful seasons he was released. He pursued a career with the Washington Redskins after that but was involved in a near-fatal accident that ended his sports career. Bo Jackson was the second player to go from Heisman to the Major League.
4. Which of the following players had 13 consecutive seasons with more than 100 RBI's?

Answer: Jimmie Foxx

Jimmy Foxx did this from 1929-1941. Lou Gehrig was the only other 20th Century player to accomplish this from 1926-1938.

Answer: Jesse Orosco

It was in 1986 when Orosco and the Mets played the Astros for the NLCS. This was argubably the best played series of all time. Orosco also had two saves in the World Series that year against the Red Sox.

Answer: Wade Boggs

In 1985, Boggs had 240 with the Boston Red Sox. This was the first time in 55 years that any player had reached this milestone. Ironically, the last time was when 3 players did it in 1930 including Bill Terry, Babe Herman, and Chuck Klein.
7. What former college basketball All-American and NBA player became a Major League baseball player?

Answer: Dick Groat

Groat was an All-American with Duke and had a short stint in the NBA before signing a bonus contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He won the National League MVP award for the Pirates in 1960.

Answer: Ken Boyer

Northey of the Cubs was the first ever to do this, followed by McCovey and Reese.

Chance struck out 63 times in 1968 with the Twins. Jerry Koosman of the Mets set the National League record in the same year by striking out 68 times.

Oliva was the first one to do this in 1964 with the Minnesota Twins. Doby was the first to lead the league in home runs, RBI's, and runs scored in 1952, Minoso for stolen bases in 1951 and most hits in 1960, and Allen lead the league in most walks in 1972 with the White Sox.
