Local merchants and businessmen at the coastal port of Piraeus (in the Athens metropolitam area) worked together to form the football team in 1925. The founding team became known throughout Greece when five brothers from the same Andrianopoulos family played for the team and became local legends.

The full name is Olympiakos Fan Club of Piraeus, or Olympiakos C.F.P. The name was mutually accepted by the founding members as they wanted the name to portray "Power, athletic strength, ethos, noble rivalry, dominance and ultimately the Olympic ideal". The founding members came from the two clubs which merged to form Olympiakos CFP: Piraikos Podosfairikos Omilos FC (Sport and Football Club of Piraeus) and the Piraeus Fans Club FC.

The Reds, or the Red and Whites, or the Legends, are all nicknames used by Olympiakos FC. They are commonly called the Reds due to the colour of their strip (red and white vertical stripes). The Pirates, or Pirate Ship is the nickname used by the Greek national football team.

The Crocodiles is the nickname used by rival football team, Pananthinaikos FC. The Black and Whites is the nickname used by another rival team, PAOK FC (based in Salonika).

Answer: Karaiskakis Stadium

Named after Georgios Karaiskakis, a local hero of the 1821-1832 Greek War of Independence, Karaiskakis Stadium is in the port city of Piraeus just outside the city centre of Athens. It was initially built in 1896 but rebuilt in 2004 for use during the Summer Olympic Games. Toumba Stadium is home to PAOK FC, Panthessaliko Stadium to Niki Volos FC and Pankritio Stadium to Ergotelis FC.

The team strip for home games is white for purity and red for passion, with the team emblem showing an image of a man wearing laurels which denote victory. The top is usually white and red stripes, with red shorts and socks. The kit suppliers have included Umbro, Puma and Adidas, with the shirt previously sponsored by Fiat, Toyota and Siemens.

Superleague Greece was founded in 2006 when it replaced Alpha Ethniki (National Division One, founded 1959). From 1927 to 1959 there were three regional leagues, and end of season pay-offs decided which club was crowned Greek Champions (aka teh Panhellenic Championship). Superleague Greece is the highest ranking football league in Greece. Olympiakos FC have never been relegated since the formation of the national league in 1959; an honour they share with their local rivals Panathinaikos, and PAOK Salonica). Olympiakos FC were the first club to win seven national titles back-to-back (1997 to 2003).

Each country has rival football teams which play a local derby. These have included Everton v Liverpool in England, Inter Milan v Juventus in Italy, and Real Madrid v FC Barcelona in Spain. In Greece, the local derby takes place between Olympiakos FC and Panathinaikos, both teams from the Athens area.

The rivalry started due to social class differences; Olympiakos FC attracted working class supporters, whereas Panathinaikos attracted people from the upper class.

Giorgos Strezos (72) made his debut as a goalkeeper in 2011, representing Greece in the Under-17 Championships. Balazs Megyeri (42) from Hungary started playing for Olympiakos FC in 2011, helping them win Superleague Greece for that year. Roberto Jimenez Gago (16) from Spain played on loan for Olympiakos FC during the 2013-14 season. Giannis Maniatis (2) has been a defensive midfielder and captain for Olympiakos FC after transferring from Panionios in 2011.

Jose Miguel Gonzalez Martin del Campo was better known as Michel. He was a Spanish midfielder, playing for Real Madrid from 1981 to 1996, and internationally for his country from 1985 to 1992. After becoming manager for Olympiacos FC, he took them on to win Superleague Greece titles for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons (their 40th and 41st championships, both record numbers of wins), as well as the Greek Football Cup in 2013 (their 26th win, also a record number).

They won the Double (league and cup in the same season) in 2013, for the 16th time (also a record number).

The game between Olympiakos FC and AEK Athens was a normal match day game. Olympiakos won the game 6-0 and the happy fans from the host team left the stadium in their droves, ready to celebrate their team's win. It is believed one of the exit doors was not fully open, and as the fans rushed out a stampede occurred, crushing some fans underneath and causing death by suffocation. Each year on the same date, a memorial service is held which is attended by thousands of fans. They always chant "Brothers, you still live, and you are the ones that guide us".
