Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the Packers player who burned his eyebrows and eyelashes off, after he poured gasoline on some kindling and then struck a match in 1995?

Answer: Travis Jervey

Travis Jervey and LeShon Johnson had a lot of fun as roommates when they played for the Packers. When Travis wasn't burning off his unnecessary body hair, the pair was known to have set up illegal deer snares in their backyard. They even entertained thoughts of buying a lion for a pet.

When coach Mike Holmgren told Jervey, "no lion", Travis thought he might like something else like a tiger.
2. What is the name of the Packers player who was ejected for pushing Walter Payton over the bench in 1985?

Answer: Mark Lee

When they showed the replay on this one, it looked a lot like Walter pulled Mark Lee over the top of the bench by his face-mask. Talk about your ultimate savvy veteran move.
3. What is the name of the serial killer drafted by the Packers in 1974?

Answer: Randy Woodfield

Randy Woodfield was known as the I-5 killer. The Packers drafted Woodfield out of Portland State in the 17th round of the 1974 draft as a WR. In the 15th round of that year, the Packers also drafted a tackle out of Pittsburgh named Dave Wannstedt. Wannstedt went on to coach the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins, while Woodfield went to the Oregon State Penitentiary for his numerous crimes.
4. What Packers player once wore a hand towel with Chicago Bears offensive players numbers on it, claiming that it was a hit-list?

Answer: Charles Martin

After a Jim McMahon interception, Charles Martin decided to slam the punky QB to the ground and end the QBs 1986 season. Martin was ejected from the game and was suspended two games by the NFL. This was the longest suspension for an on-field incident until Albert Haynesworth of the Tennessee Titans was suspended five games for stomping on the head of Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode in 2006.
5. What Packers player was ejected from a game because he got into a battle with Chicago Cardinal DT Al Barbartsky, that threatened to turn the game into a free-for-all?

Answer: Clarke Hinkle

On October 8, 1939, the Packers defeated the Chicago Cardinals 27-20. During this game, Don Hutson scored the longest touchdown of his career, a 92-yard reception from QB Arnie Herber. Andy Uram also set a Packer record with a 97-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Uram's record would stand for 64 years. Hinkle, an NFL Hall of Fame inductee class of 1964, was an all around tough guy.

For example, in a 1934 game against the Bears, Hinkle found himself trapped on the sidelines by Bronko Nagurski. Clarke escaped his tackle by driving directly into and over him.

The Bears' superstar was helped from the field with a broken nose and a fractured rib.
6. What Packers player allegedly defecated in a laundry basket of a woman at Barry University dorm on April 1, 2002?

Answer: Najeh Davenport

In a plea bargain, Davenport's felony charge of second-degree burglary and misdemeanor count of criminal mischief were dropped, in exchange for his completing 100 hours of community service. After joining the Steelers, Davenport was given the nicknames "Dookie" and "The Dump Truck", both plays on the Barry University incident.
7. What Packers player was ejected for an extremely late hit on Chicago Bears Matt Suey in 1985?

Answer: Ken Stills

This play happened on the very next defensive series for the Packers, after Mark Lee was ejected for his altercation with Walter Payton that sent both players spilling over the top of the sideline bench. Kenny was apparently retaliating for the raw deal that Lee got, but the play was so ridiculous and one of the biggest cheap shots in NFL history.
8. What is the name of the former Packers player who was arrested for soliciting a prostitute prior to Super Bowl XXXIII?

Answer: Eugene Robinson

A member of the Atlanta Falcons at the time of the incident, Eugene Robinson really did some damage to his good guy image with this particular episode. Robinson had actually just received the NFLs Bart Starr Award, celebrating his high moral character earlier that day. During the game which the Broncos won 34-19, Robinson also was scorched for an 80-yard TD reception that was hauled in by Rod Smith.
9. What former Packers player appeared on the front cover of "Sports Illustrated" with the question, 'Too vicious for the NFL?'

Answer: Chuck Cecil

Chuck Cecil was known for hitting people. The top of his nose was often broken open and bloody from his helmet slamming down after one of his thunderous hits. Many times while watching games, you would see a blur enter the picture and you just knew it was Cecil.

He was fined many times, and despite wearing a "Gazoo Helmet" for extra protection, concussions eventually forced Chuck into retirement.
10. According to "Time Magazine", what did Packer fans do to Dan Devine's dog in 1972?

Answer: Shot & killed him

This particular story is legendary. What really happened? The story of disgruntled Packer fans killing the coach's dog because they were overly passionate and displeased. That fact is evidenced by the numerous story replays by the media over the years.
