Gary Green coached the Petes to the Memorial Cup final in 1978 before winning the Cup in 1979. He was then signed by the Washington Capitals organization, coaching with the AHL Hersey Bears and the Caps before becoming a colour commentator.
5. With the Petes, Coach Roger Neilson gave OHL rule makers fits on occasions, with his innovative approach to the game of hockey. Which rule was added because of a Neilson idea?

Answer: A goalie must be on the ice to defend a penalty shot.

Answer: Dave Dryden

Former NHL goalie Dave Dryden coached the Petes 1980-81, but never played the for team. Gretzky played three games for the Petes in the 1976-77 season, as a midget callup. He was drafted by the Soo Greyhounds and played a full season in '77-78 for the Hounds.

The rivalry between the two teams is legendary. Because of the short distance between the two cities, fans often make the journey to see their teams play in the other rink.
9. The Petes, in the 2002-03 season, had two official team mascots. What were their names?

Answer: Slapshot and Pete

Slapshot is the beloved dog mascot of the Petes. When the team's new logo was designed, the character Pete was added as a second mascot. (Hound Dog is the mascot for the Soo Greyhounds and Howler patrols the stands for the Sudbury Wolves).
10. Which of the following NHL bruisers played for the Petes?

Answer: Tie Domi

Tie Domi scored 22 goals and 21 assists, in addition to picking up 292 penalty minutes, with the Petes in 1987-88. Domi's shot (with the puck) is a lot better than most give him credit for.
