Answer: Florida Marlins

Both the Expos and Padres formed up in 1969 along with the Brewers (Seattle Pilots) and Royals. The Marlins franchise began in 1993. Their fifth season found them winning their first World Series over the Indians.
2. This team in the 1960s had a few future Hall of Fame greats. They rostered the likes of Duke Snider, Jim Bunning, Don Sutton, and even their manager was later inducted also. Which team was this?

Answer: Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers also had the arms of Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax. Walter Alston helmed the team for 23 seasons. The Dodgers went to three World Series in the decade in 1963, 1965, and 1966. They lost the latter to the Orioles.
3. This team in the 1970s won three consecutive World Series. They were also one of the two teams in the Earthquake Series in the decade. Which team was this?

Answer: Oakland Athletics

Oakland won their three World Series from 1972-1974. After going through a dry-spell, they finally found themselves in the promised land again in 1988, but lost to the Dodgers. In 1989, they met the Giants in the World Series and witnessed the famous earthquake that hit for the game three showdown.

Although the quake delayed the series for 10 days, the Athletics had their own shake-up going with the Giants. Oakland skunked the Giants four games to none.

The Colonels went defunct in 1899. The Pirate additions also included future Hall of Fame greats Honus Wagner and player-manager Fred Clarke. After finishing second place in 1900, the three NL pennants came after from 1901-1903. The Pirates also went to the first-ever World Series in 1903, but lost to the Boston Americans.

Answer: Chicago White Sox

The White Sox won the first AL pennant in 1901 with the Boston Americans finishing second. Chicago went to the World Series in 1906, 1917, 1919, and 1959. They won the first two. The Indians franchise began as the Blues, Bronchos, and Naps before taking on the Indians name in 1915. Boston's franchise was the Americans, then the Red Sox name came in 1908.

Answer: Detroit Tigers

The team was the Tigers and the player suspended was Ty Cobb. After some rude and severe heckling from this one fan for three straight days, Cobb jumped into the stands behind the dugout and beat the living baseballs out of him. In response, Commissioner Ban Johnson suspended Cobb, then all the players on the team refused to play in any future games.

After one game of no-names being hired by the Tiger organization to play in their place for fear of league fines, the Tigers lost 24-2. The Commissioner then reinstated Cobb.
7. Which team in the 1990s had a Cy Young Award winner the most times in the decade?

Answer: Atlanta Braves

Of the others, only the Red Sox had winners once each in Roger Clemens and Pedro Martinez. The Braves won it six times, starting with Tom Glavine who won it in 1991. In 1992, Greg Maddux of the Cubs won it before coming to Atlanta in 1993. Greg would win three consecutive from 1993-1995. John Smoltz took the NL honors in 1996. Glavine came back in 1998 to win another.

Answer: Philadelphia Athletics

From 1910-1915, the Athletics ruled the American League with Connie Mack at the helm. The only season they missed out in that span was in 1912 when the Red Sox won the pennant by 14 games. Philadelphia was third behind the Senators, 15 games back. The Athletics won one World Series over the Cubs, two over the Giants, then lost to the Braves.
