1. Which year did the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers move to California?

Answer: 1958

The Giants franchise had been in New York since 1883 initially, with their name of New York Gothams. The Dodger franchise began as the Brooklyn Atlantics in 1884. They were also unofficially called the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers.
2. The Washington Senators existed from 1901-1960. Which team did they become in 1961?

Answer: Minnesota Twins

The Senators made only three World Series appearances in 60 seasons. Their only win was with the help of Hall of Famer Walter Johnson in 1924. Upon arriving in Minnesota, the franchise made their first World Series appearance in their new home just five seasons later in 1965.
3. In which year did the Athletics franchise become the Oakland Athletics?

Answer: 1968

The new American League franchise began in Philadelphia under the helm of Connie Mack in 1901. The team moved to Kansas City in 1955, then to Oakland in 1968. Five seasons later, the Athletics began to win three consecutive World Series in 1972, 1973, and 1974.

The franchise began as the Baltimore Orioles in the new American League in 1901. They spent two season in Baltimore before moving and becoming the New York Highlanders in 1903. The Yankee name came in 1913.
7. Major League Baseball found the new Milwaukee Brewers in the American League in the 1970s. Which city did that franchise move from?

The Seattle Pilots joined the ranks in 1969, but the team crashed with a last place finish. In 1970, the franchise moved to Milwaukee. The franchise was initially placed in the AL West, then shifted to the AL East in 1972. It was moved once again to the AL Central in 1994. If that wasn't enough, Major League Baseball moved them to the National League Central Division in 1998.

The new Washington Senators of 1961 played for 10 seasons, then moved to become the Texas Rangers in 1972.
9. Which year did the Montreal Expos move to a new location?

The Expos played in Montreal since 1969. They went to only one playoff series, and it was a NLCS loss in 1981. The final season in Montreal found Frank Robinson as the manager, and the franchise kept him with the move to become the Washington Nationals in 2005.
10. Which city was the Padres franchise located in before becoming the San Diego Padres?

Answer: They were a new expansion team in San Diego

The Padres along with the Expos joined the National League in 1969 as expansion teams. The Padres found their first World Series in 1984 in a loss to the Tigers.
