The first cup was won by the powerful New Zealand team. 20 countries participated in this, the fifth World Cup.
2. Which team are nicknamed the Pumas?

Answer: Argentina

Rugby has been played in Argentina since the nineteenth century. Their team captain was Agustin Pichot, one of the best scrum halfs in the game.
3. What position did Brian O'Driscoll play in for Ireland?

Answer: Centre

He had already notched up 41 caps for Ireland before being selected.
4. Which rugby team was nicknamed the Oaks?

Answer: Romania

The Blues were France, the Eagles the USA and the Welwitchias were from Namibia.
