St. Mirren defeated Hearts 2-1 in the semi-final, with goals from Ian Ferguson and Frank McGarvey.
2. Who helped Celtic to lift the Cup by scoring twice in the second half in the 1988 final?

Answer: Frank McAvennie

McAvennie scored twice with 15 minutes to go after Kevin Gallacher had given Dundee United the lead early in the second half. McAvennie was a very popular player with the Celtic support.
