Answer: Cal Ripken Jr

Ripken goes 3-for-5 in becoming the 24th Major League player to reach 3,000 hits and leading the Orioles over the Twins, 6-4. He becomes the 7th Major Leaguer to get 3,000 hits and 400 home runs. The other members are Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Dave Winfield, Stan Musial, Carl Yastrzemski, and Eddie Murray.

Answer: Bernie Williams & Jorge Posada

Bernie Williams and Jorge Posada of the New York Yankees performed this feat on April 23, 2000. This was the first time in Major League history this is accomplished. Williams hit a homer from each side of the plate again on May 17 giving him 2 for the 2000 season.

The single season mark for hitting home runs from each side of the plate in the American League was 3 set by Tony Clark in 1998, and in the National League it was 4 set by Ken Caminiti in 1996.

Answer: Cincinnati Reds

The Reds went on to set a NL consecutive record of 208 games without being shut out. Mets' Al Leiter shut out the Reds 5-0 in the wild-card playoff game that ended the 1999 season. The Reds then went on to score at least one run in a game until Jon Lieber of the Cubs shut then down 3-0 on May 24, 2001. The 1931-33 New York Yankees logged 308 games without being shut out.

Answer: Chuck Finley

On May 12, 1999, Finley of the Anaheim Angels struckout 4 New York Yankees in the 3rd inning at Yankees Stadium. He finished the game with the win and 11 K's. Finley then struckout 4 Tigers in the 1st inning on August 15, 1999, as he collected the win and 12 Ks at Tiger Stadium.

His 3rd performance came against the Texas Rangers on April 16, 2000. While with the Cleveland Indians he fanned 4 Rangers in the 3rd inning, compiling 13 Ks and pitching a complete game for the win at Jacobs Field.
