The New York Yankees shared the stadium with the Giants from 1913 until 1922, before moving across the Harlem River to Yankee Stadium.

The New York Mets played their first two seasons as an expansion franchise there in 1962-63 before their own Shea Stadium was ready. The Polo Grounds was demolished shortly afterwards.

The Brooklyn Dodgers played in Brooklyn from 1884 until moving to Los Angeles in 1958, mostly at Ebbets Field.
