1. How many times did the Italian-American racing driver Mario Andretti win the Driver of the Year Award?

Answer: 3

Mario Andretti was the first driver to win the award, as it happens, in 1967. He also won it in three different decades, with the other two awards being in 1978 and 1984. He was also the first racing driver to win IndyCar races in four decades, his last win being in 1993.

He has competed in and won various types of motor race, including NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula One (for Parnelli, Lotus and Alfa Romeo) and the World Sportscar Championship. His sons Michael and Jeff are also racing drivers, as is his nephew John.
2. Which country does footballer Mario Mandzukic represent at an international level?

Mario Mandzukic's clubs include Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and Juventus, where he has been part of several cup and league-winning squads. Mandzukic scored a memorable goal from an overhead kick in the 2017 Champions' League final against Real Madrid, although unfortunately for him, Real Madrid went on to win 4-1.

He was first called up for Croatia under Slaven Bilic in 2007, and retired in August 2018 after the World Cup final, in which Croatia lost to France (he had scored 33 goals for them). He won the Croatian Footballer of the Year award in 2012 and 2013.

He retired in 2011 due to heart problems.

A student at the University of Kansas, Almario 'Mario' Chalmers was picked 34th in the second round of the NBA 2008 draft, but was then traded to Miami Heat, where he stayed until the 2014-15 season. He originally wore the number 6, but changed to 15, his college number, when LeBron James signed in 2010.

He won the NBA Championship with Miami Heat in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. In 2015, he signed for Memphis Grizzlies, though an achilles injury kept him from playing in 2016. He rejoined the Grizzlies in 2017, and transferred to Virtus Bologna, Italy's oldest basketball team, in the Italian LBA first division.

He also won South American Footballer of the Year that same year. He was capped 43 times for Argentina in total. After he retired in 1994, he managed various teams, including Bolivian clubs Blooming and The Strongest, and Venezuelans Mineros de Guayana.

He played for Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan, but had a troubled relationship with Mancini's successor, Jose Mourinho; Mourinho recalled a match against Rubin Kazan where he begged Balotelli not to get into trouble after Balotelli was booked in the first half, due to a shortage of attacking players, only for Balotelli to be sent off in the 46th minute. Mancini and Balotelli were reunited when Balotelli moved to Manchester City in 2010; Balotelli was the player who provided the assist that saw Sergio Aguero score the winning goal against QPR, causing City to win the 2011-12 Premier League title. He was also Man of the Match in the 2011 FA Cup final.

Incidentally, Balotelli has also played for Liverpool; he joined the side in 2014, while Brendan Rodgers was in charge. After being loaned to AC Milan, he joined Nice in 2016.

Quebec native Mario Tremblay - real name Joseph Mario Tremblay - spent his entire playing career with Montreal Canadiens, and played on the right wing. As a junior ice hockey player, he started out with the Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge before being signed by Montreal Canadiens in 1974.

He spent twelve years there, and came back as head coach in 1995. He was nicknamed 'le bleuet bionique', or 'the Bionic Blueberry'. After retiring, he became a pundit for Montreal Canadiens games on RDS, a Quebec sports channel.

His nephew Pascal Trépanier is also an ice hockey player.
