1. Goalkeeper Mark Bosnich left Aston Villa for which massive club?

Answer: Manchester United

Bosnich returned to the then European champions Manchester Utd in 1999. Bosnich had had a spell at United between 1989 and 1991. He had some big gloves to fill as Peter Schmeichel had just ended his career at Old Trafford by lifting the Champions League trophy.
2. Former Villa captain, Gareth Southgate, left the club in 2001. Which side did he join?

Answer: Middlesborough

Southgate was a regular in the staring line up in his 6 seasons at Villa, making nearly 250 appearances in all competitons. During his time at Villa, Southgate also became a regular England international.
3. Legendary centre back, Paul McGrath, left Aston Villa in 1996 for which, at the time, Premiership team?

Answer: Derby County

Despite his "dodgy" knees and only training once a week, McGrath was the defensive lynch pin of the side that ran Manchester United close for the first Premiership title.

Collymore had a reputation as a trouble maker. The then Villa manager Brian Little thought he could control him. He paid a then club record fee for his services. Many saw this decision as the beginning of the end of Little's tenure in charge at Aston Villa. Collymore did not settle at Villa and moved on in 2000 having made only 60 appearances and scoring only 15 goals.
