McGinnity hit a bruising 41 batters while pitching for Brooklyn in 1900.
2. How many players hit 40 or more home runs in a season during the 20th century?

Answer: 52

Of those 52 greats, 49 of them had done it more than once.
3. Who was the first relief pitcher to ever pitch in an all-star game?

Answer: Mace Brown

Jack Russell of Washington was selected in 1934 but was never called up from the bullpen. Mace Brown of the Pirates was the very first reliever to pitch in an all-star game in 1938.
4. Who was the only outfielder to throw out 3 runners at home plate in one game in the 20th Century?

Answer: Jack McCarthy

McCarthy gunned down 3 runners in one game on April 26th, 1905 while playing with the Cubs. No other player had equalled that feat during the 20th century.

Answer: Jack Coombs

Jack threw 13 shutouts in 1910. Alexander holds the National record of 16 in 1916 with Philadelphia.
