After being at the helm for three seasons in Cleveland, Frank took over the managing job of the San Francisco Giants in 1981, replacing Dave Bristol. He left San Francisco in 1984, and took over the Orioles in 1988. In 2002, Robinson tried to straighten out the Montreal Expos.

Ironically, the Athletics were also the first team to go to a World Series without having a 20-game winner. They did this the following season in 1914, and were skunked by the Boston Braves, four games to none. The first team to actually go to a World Series with one 20-game winner was the 1908 Detroit Tigers, with Ed Summers on the mound who went 24-12. But, the Tigers lost to the Cubs in the series four games to one.

He won eight batting crowns and five stolen base titles. Honus was one of the first five players inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1936.
