They were driving down the old highway, talking and listening to the radio, when suddenly something darted into the road. Max swerved to miss it, and wrecked the jeep. What ran out in front of them?

Max was knocked unconscious during the accident. Liz called an ambulance and they were transported to the hospital. Moments before the accident, in a voice over, Liz said the following: "Have you ever had a moment when you're with the one person in the world you want to be with, and the wind is blowing through your hair, and the song that just describes your entire soul happens to come on, and then the person that you happen to want to be with happens to love the same song, and suddenly you realize you're listening to it together? And no matter how crazy your life has gotten, there's this one moment - this perfect moment - where you could just say that no matter what happens, nothing can take this moment away from me . . . and then, something does."

2. Once Liz and Max arrived at the hospital, the ER doctor ordered a string of tests to be performed on the still unconscious Max, including a blood workup. They tracked him back to his motel room and waited for him to leave again. Once he had left, Maria and Michael went in and looked around, trying to find any information to identify who he was and who he was working for. "This is the second time you have dragged me into some cheap motel." Maria berated Michael for forcing her to participate in the breaking-and-entering of the man's motel room. It turned out to be beneficial when they realized that Ms. Topolsky, the W. Roswell guidance counselor, was not who she claimed to be.

8. Alex was having a hard time accepting that he was involved with the blood swapping at the hospital. During a conversation with Liz back at school, Alex had a nose bleed. What specifically caused his nose to bleed?

Ms. Topolsky suspected that Alex's blood may have been switched with Max's at the hospital, but she needed proof. After drugging Alex's drink, she waited until he went to the bathroom to clean up after the nose bleed. When he left the restroom, she entered and took a tissue with Alex's blood on it for testing.

9. Once the group realized that Ms. Topolsky was more than just the school guidance counselor, they decided to investigate her. Who hacked into Ms. Topolsky's computer to help Liz expose her as FBI?

Although Alex was hurt with Liz when she refused to tell him the truth, he did agree to help her. While pretending to 'confess' to the blood switching, he hacked into Ms. Topolsky's computer while Liz distracted her outside. Alex was successful and was able to find FBI files on her computer. She knew that her cover had been blown, so she packed up her things and left.

10. By the end of the episode, did Liz finally tell Alex the truth about Max and the blood swapping?

Alex demanded to know, but once again Liz refused to tell him. He gave her an ultimatum and told her that she could either tell him the whole truth, or their friendship would be over. She still chose to keep Alex out of the loop to protect Max, Michael, and Isabel.
