1.9 "Rory's Dance" Trivia Quiz

No corrections please, as I did research that these are all fruits and none are vegetables. Fruit: "the ripened ovary or ovaries of a seed-bearing plant, together with accessory parts, containing the seeds and occurring in a wide variety of forms." -according to www.dictionary.com. Vegetables do not contain seeds that would regrow the plant, and potatoes are tubers (roots) that are edible.

Grandpa was in Prague during this episode, so it was just the three Gilmore women at dinner. Lorelai only truly disliked avocados, but did not enjoy her tomato once it "fraternized with the enemy". The tomato had avocado meat on it.

Dean admitted that he'd never been to a dance before, and that he was not inclined to go to one now. But, he saw how much Rory really did want to go and agreed to be her date.

Lane wanted to watch Rory and Dean through Doose's window because her TV was gone and she was lacking in entertainment. She also asked Rory to annunciate her words so she could easily read lips.
"VIP" was a syndicated TV series created by and starring Pamela Anderson. "VIP" lasted from 1998-2002.

Sookie arrived at Lorelai's house with tacos and burritos because Lorelai was having a hard time moving. While there, Sookie tried to help Rory with her hairspray, but instead shot it into her own eye. Emily Gilmore arrived soon afterward.

When she found out that Lorelai had a hard time moving around, Emily insisted on staying to care for her. Lorelai tried to convince her she could handle it all herself, but Emily asked how she would get herself to the bathroom. Lorelai responded she'd given it up cold turkey, but there was no stopping Emily from staying to care for her daughter.

She asked Dean if he'd ever seen the movie, and he said yes. She then responded with "Just call me Ponyboy". C. Thomas Howell played Ponyboy in the 1983 movie based on the S.E. Hinton novel. Jay R. Ferguson played Ponyboy in the 1990 TV series. Jay can also be seen in season four episodes of "Judging Amy" and a season one episode of "Medium".

Emily cannot believe Lorelai traded her fancy candlesticks for something that was tasteless. She called the lamp 'semi-pornographic' and 'a slightly sinister barroom decoration'.

Madeleine and Louise seem to be dateless, as they sat and waited for Paris to arrive. Paris had wanted to go to the dance with Tristan, but lied to him when he asked her if she was available. It turned out that Paris' date, Jacob, was actually her own cousin.

He later asked Rory for her phone number and revealed this truth to her. Paris assumed Rory would tell anyone who would listen, and confronted Rory when she got the chance. In her all of her ranting, it was Paris who loudly revealed that Jacob was her cousin to her classmates.

Lorelai had no recollection of this childhood remedy, but agreed to try it. She said it was even worse tasting than it looked, so Emily tried it as well. She quickly agreed and added that she did not know what she'd been thinking when she made it!

Miss Patty announced the time as she awakened Rory. Dean wanted to come home with Rory to explain what had happened, but Rory knew she had to do it herself. She arrived home to Lorelai and Emily arguing over Rory's future. Lorelai told her mom that if she couldn't see how great her life had actually turned out, that she could stay out of her house.
