General "Firestorm" Franklin is in command of the troops being sent to Akdor to help the Shilassen Triumverate put down a rebellion. He arrives at Babylon 5 with six ships carrying 25,000 soldiers. He tells Sheridan that he has also come bearing gifts: "New weapon systems for your defense grid.

The very latest of Earth Force R&D. When they are on line, Babylon 5 will have enough firepower to take on a warship." Sheridan: "Are you sure this is wise? Babylon 5 is supposed to be devoted to peace. If we begin arming heavily." Franklin: "The galaxy is changing and Babylon 5 must change with it." Babylon 5 needs to be prepared to fight, especially with the Narn-Centauri War.

Answer: Tech#1

This is a conversation between Tech#1(a.k.a. Corwin after "A Day in the Strife") and Ivanova while C&C is in Standby Mode. Ivanova: "No traffic, no complaints, no noise. Traders, troublemakers, and ambassadors, all tucked snuggly in their little beds. I love this time of night." Tech#1: "There is no night in deep space. And time is a meaningless concept when you stop to think about it."

Answer: Alfredo

When General Franklin is introduced to Garibaldi he says: "I had an Alfredo Garibaldi under my command during the Dilgar invasion. Excellent soldier." Garibaldi: "That's my dad." Franklin looks Garibaldi over and says: "So much for genetics."

Answer: They drink orange juice.

We know from "The Geometry of Shadows" that Sheridan enjoys drinking orange juice, especially when it is fresh squeezed with pulp. When General Franklin and Stephen are catching up on old times, Stephen offers him a fruit juice. General Franklin says that he only likes orange juice. Stephen insistst that he try the drink...he does and he likes it.

Answer: They are a threat to humanity

This is a main point of contention between Stephen and his father. Stephen: "I'm a doctor. My duty is to heal." General Franklin: "Then heal humans. Stephen, I know you are fascinated by these alien creatures, but they are a threat to humanity. And they always will be.

Help your own kind." Stephen: "Life is life. Whether it's wrapped in skins, scales, or feathers. Now, if you respected these beings instead of constantly trying to murder them, you would appreciate that."

Answer: Garibaldi

Delenn and Garibaldi were walking in the Zocalo when Garibaldi notices some gropos causing problems, so he says the above line and leaves. After he leaves Privat Kleist, et. al. start giving Delenn problems. Dodger comes to the rescue and starts beating up on her fellow gropos in order to protect Delenn.

Answer: nightmare

Ivanova says this as she is trying to find a way to provide billets for each of the soldiers that have arrived on the station. She ends up placing at least 2 gropos in each of the Earth Force personnel's quarters. Even Keffer has to share his quarters with two of the gropos.

Here are some other Dodger quotes -- Of Garibaldi: "Nice butt." -- When Garibaldi asks what she wants to see in a tour of the station she says: "A nice restaurant, and your quarters." -- After Garibaldi doesn't want to sleep with her on the first date: "You know, I didn't come here expecting to set up housekeeping. I'm a ground pounder. I'm cleaning latrines one day, the next I might be up to my hips in blood, hoping that I don't hear the round that takes me out. You got it? In between, I like to try to see what I can get, to remind myself that I'm alive. Right, it's not romance, but it's all I got time for. I'm so sorry it's not enough for you." -- During the bar fight...Garibaldi: "You all right?" Dodger: "Best thing next to sex." Garibaldi: "You're all right."

Here are some good gropos quotes -- Keffer to Large: "Yeah, I got a problem. Just give me a minute to find a ladder and we'll hash it out face to face." -- General Franklin: "You know what they say about old soldiers don't you? They still kick butt with the best of them." -- Garibaldi: "Leave it to the infantry to ruin a guy's morning." -- Large to Yang: "Any Gropo who ain't scared is either dead, or stupid. Don't worry about it, kid.

It's what keeps you going when you're in it."

Answer: Ground Pounders

The gropos are the infantry divisions of Earth Force. They are responsible for planetary maneuvers and defense of outposts. Garibaldi was a gropo during the Earth-Minbari War, as well as Amis ("The Long Dark"). These guys often get a reputation as relying on strength instead of brains...similar to the army or marines.

Answer: Dodger

Garibaldi first meets Dodger after he helps break up the fight over Delenn between her and Kleist. She is actually the one who introduces herself to him. Later, Dodger asks Garibaldi for a tour, and Welch says that he'll take over for Garibaldi. He takes her out for dinner and then back to his quarters, where he backs down because of his recent trouble in relationships.

She storms off saying that she wasn't looking for romance, but they make up in the end. Dodger, like most of the others, doesn't make it back from Akdor (although we see her again in "Day of the Dead").

Answer: Matok

General Franklin consults Sheridan on the best way to attack Matok, since he knows the area. Sheridan says that they are not going to get through this battle without heavy casualties. This is a tragic, but realistic portrayal of war...with the general further out of harms way while his men are getting torn apart. All of the gropos that we befriended in the episode (except General Franklin) end up dead: Dodger, Yang, Large and Kleist, leaving Keffer, Garibaldi, and others mourning their deaths.

Answer: Tank

Yang and Large were billeted with Warren Keffer and Kleist was the soldier that kept making problems for everyone else. Large is a veteran of many battles, and he took Yang under his wing, since this was to be his first battle. Kleist started the fight in the bar with Keffer, when Keffer accidentally bumps into him. He was also the ring leader of the group who threatened Delenn.

Answer: Delenn

Kleist and his cronies see Delenn in the Zocalo. They come up to her in a menacing manner and start to question her about her appearance. They then decide that she needs to be taught a lesson because of what her people did at the Battle of the Line. Dodger comes in and defends her, starting a fight with the other gropos. Delenn goes to find Garibaldi, and he and the Sgt. Major break up the fight.

Answer: "Anytime you lose a war, you just wait a few years, and you'll hear from everyone who thought that we could've won if they had done the fighting."

The line, "Anytime you lose a war, you just wait a few years, and you'll hear from everyone who thought that we could've won if they had done the fighting," is spoken by Sheridan in the episode "All Alone in the Night." Garibaldi says the Narn/Centauri line to Delenn.

The standing up for principles line is spoken by General Franklin. The Dark Star line is said by Lou Welch...I guess some of the gropos wanted a private showing.
