Answer: Centauri

Since the Centauri conquered the Narn homeworld, Sheridan thought it wise to train his pilots to fight the Centauri, in anticipation of Earth deciding to take up arms to stop the Centauri expansion. However, this act gets him in trouble with EarthGov since they are planning on signing a non-aggression treaty with the Centauri.

Answer: Vir

This is from one of the sweetest scenes in the show. Vir and Lennier meet in the Zocalo, at presumably a previously arranged place and time, to discuss their lives as ambassadorial aides. Here is the rest of the conversation. Lennier: "Sometimes I get so close, and yet it seems I'm shut out of the important things." Vir: "It's a useless feeling.

The ambassador is definitely going through some changes. He even looks different." Lennier: "Indeed, and now with the military starting to stampede over everyone and everything..." Vir: "The coming and going and secret meetings..." Lennier: "You never know what it's all about, until later, when it's too late." Vir: "They never listen to us." Lennier and Vir: "It makes me nervous." Vir: "Same time tomorrow?" Lennier: "Sure."

Answer: Ministry of Peace

Mr. Lantz is from the Ministry of Peace and he has been sent by EarthGov to learn more about the Centauri's recent actions. He tells Sheridan that he will need to meet with all of the ambassadors affected by the Centauri expansion.

Answer: slick

Still obsessed with finding out more about the strange ship he had seen in hyperspace, Keffer questions another pilot who said that he had seen the ship. In order to prove to the pilot that he was serious about his interest and not out to make fun of the pilot, he describes the ship.

Here's Keffer's full description: "It was jet black. A shade of black your eye just slides off it. It shimmered when you looked at it. A spider big as death and twice as ugly. When it flies past, it's like you hear a scream in your mind...I saw it, too."

Answer: Na'Kal

The Narn warship appears on the far side of Epsilon 3 and requests sanctuary. Na'Kal says that they were on a deep-space assignment when Narn was attacked, so they were left free. We also see Na'Kal in the episode, "Walkabout," when G'Kar begs the help of Na'Kal's ship at the request of Sheridan to help fight the Shadows.

Answer: Zack

Zack, who joined Nightwatch for the extra pay, is still uncomfortable with Nightwatch's habit of spying on the residents of B5, military and civilian alike. Slowly, but surely, Mr. Welles is determined to make Zack conform by sinking him deeper in the system, little by little.

Answer: a piece of the Black Star

Ivanova gives him the gift and then says: "Everyone said it was impossible to take out a Minbari warcruiser, but you did it. The way things are going, I figured out that it might be nice to have a reminder that impossible is possible."

Answer: to sign a non-agression treaty with the Centauri

Mr. Lantz tells Sheridan: "I'm here to sign a non-aggression treaty with the Centauri. Before I leave here there will be an Earth-Centauri alliance that will guarantee peace for Earth. We will, at last, know peace in our time." Later when Sheridan is in his office with Ivanova, he tells her: "I remember the first time I put on this uniform. I felt ten feet tall. Like I could take on the whole galaxy before breakfast. Now I look at it, and it's just cloth. I don't know what it means anymore, what it stands for." Ivanova: "You know, it's going to be a new year in little over a week. Maybe 2260 is the year that we redefine it, make it mean something again."

Answer: Babylon 5

The Centauri warship targets the Narn ship, Babylon 5, and the starfuries. Sheridan tells Londo that if the ship fires on the Narns or on the station that he will "respond with deadly force." The warship fires on Babylon 5, slicing off a large portion of one of the forward cargo stabilizers. In the next episode, "Matters of Honor," we can see the damage being repaired.

Answer: Zen Garden

Mr. Welles tells Sheridan that he will have to publically apologize for destroying the Centauri warship. When Sheridan tries to refuse, Wells says: "This isn't a request, Captain. It's a direct ofer from the Joint Chiefs and the President. And you have two choices. Apologize, or disobey a direct order from your superiors.

As this would be an act of insubordination, you will be removed from your position and someone more ... reasonable will be installed to replace you."

Answer: straight to hell

Sheridan practices his speech in the mirror while getting ready: "I apologize. I'm sorry. I'm sorry we had to defend ourselves against an unwarranted attack. I'm sorry that your crew was stupid enough to fire on a station filled with a quarter million civilians, including your own people. And I'm sorry I waited as long as I did before I blew them all straight to hell.

As with everything else," he muses, "it's the thought that counts."

Answer: Delenn and Kosh

Delenn sneaks off to have a word with Kosh, while Ivanova finds that G'Kar has sneaked in to the assembly.

Answer: Centauri

Sheridan boards the crowded core shuttle. As people get off at different stops, only Sheridan and the Centauri are left behind. When the Centauri gets off, Sheridan notices that he has left something behind. Recognizing it for a bomb, he orders the shuttle to open the doors and he jumps out just as the bomb goes off.

Answer: G'Lan

G'Kar says that he sees G'Lan; Lennier sees Valeria; and the Drazi sees Droshalla. Londo looks up with them, but looks confused. Later, Delenn goes to find Sheridan in his quarters. Sheridan: "The whole station's talking about what happened. Every race that was in the garden saw something different... yet the same.

A being of light." Delenn: "Yes. Each according to his or her type." Sheridan: "But it was Kosh, wasn't it? [Delenn nods] That's what he meant when he said that if he left his encounter suit, he'd be recognized by... everybody." Delenn: "For millions of years, the Vorlons have visited other worlds, guided them and..." Sheridan: "Manipulated us? Programmed us so that... when we saw them, we would react the right way?" Delenn: "It is, as you say, a matter of perspective. What matters is that he has revealed himself to those who understand--you, me... and those who have been watching.

The Shadows will know what Kosh has done. They will worry, afraid that he would not reveal himself unless the Vorlons were prepared to stand against them." Sheridan: "Are they?" Delenn: "I do not think so.

But as long as the Shadows believe the rest of us are unaware of their existence, we have time to prepare."

Answer: Londo

Talk of what had happened has spread all over the station. In the Zocalo, Londo overhears a Narn and a Drazi talking about what they saw. The Drazi, knowing that Londo was also in the garden, asks Londo what he saw. Londo replies: "Nothing. I saw... nothing."

Answer: 60 miles per hour

The explosion goes off while Ivanova is talking to G'Kar. Ivanova contacts C&C: "Emergency alert. We've got an explosion in the core shuttle. We need rescue jetpacks and we need 'em now." G'Kar asks: "What are you trying to do?" Ivanova: "He's more or less weightless.

But the ground is rotating at sixty miles an hour. If we can't catch him, he'll be killed by the impact." G'Kar: "You won't have time!"

Answer: Ivanova

Here is Ivanova's closing monologue: "It was the end of the year 2259 and the war was upon us. As anticipated, a few days after the Earth-Centauri treaty was announced, the Centauri widened their war to include many of the Non-Aligned Worlds. And there was another war brewing closer to home.

A personal one, whose cost would be higher than any of us could imagine. We came to this place, because Babylon 5 was our last, best hope for peace. By the end of 2259, we knew that it had failed. But in so doing it became something greater.

As the war expanded, it became our last, best hope for victory, because sometimes peace is another word for surrender, and because secrets have a way of getting out."

This is a quote from Ivanova's voice-over. Seasons 2-5 have monologue voice-overs at the end of the season finale. Ivanova does season 2 and 5, G'Kar does season 3 and Delenn does season 3.

Earlier in the episode, Ivanova gives Sheridan a Hannukah/Christmas gift. The lighting of the menorah is part of the Jewish celebration of the "Festival of Lights" which is known as Hannukah

After Zeta Squadron has escorted the Narn ship into hyperspace, Keffer breaks off from his squadron when the computer detects signals that are similar to those of his ghost ship. When he finds the ship, he sets his gun camera to record the ship and then launch the images on a beacon. He is killed by the Shadow ship, and the images are aired on ISN.
