Taylor had been the unfortunate victim of some bird poop. The birds were just doing their natural thing, but Taylor had experienced some discomfort. He proposed adding spikes to the end of the objects the birds sat upon while using the bathroom, but no one felt that was right. Also on the agenda, a town loner wanting to protest.

Lane absolutely hated the car, and felt it was unfair for Jess to even own a car when he'd totaled Rory's. Of course, it wasn't Jess' fault a deer had crossed the path of Rory's car while he was driving. Kirk gushed over the car to Luke, including specific details.

He said the car was a honey that had a dual piston cam and 16 liter side by side firing. Luke told Kirk that none of that made any sense at all, and Kirk admitted he had made it all up. It had something to do with Kirk owning a Jan and Dean record.

The name goes by quickly, but it is easy to see. Lorelai is almost ready to get out of there, when Sherry pops up next to Rory's window. She insists Lorelai join the baby shower, but it takes awhile to convince her to come inside.

This made Luke very happy and relieved that the money was legitimate. He'd accused Jess of being a gigolo, and that finally got him to confess. He also called Jess an all American boy, and Jess said "just call me Dirk Squarejaw".

Rory came up with the idea when the ladies arrived back in Stars Hollow. Lorelai was still fuming over Sherry's speech about how she had sent Chris back to her a changed man. So, Rory suggested that they vent Lorelai's frustration on Jess' car. They left the motor running, took the unwanted deviled eggs, and egged the car.

Then, they did a make believe fast get away in the Jeep. Jess does not discover it until the next day, and it is Luke who tells him the eggs were already cooked. Rory and Lorelai sort of confess to Jess as the walk past him.

Every one gathered infront of the church to see what the protest would cover. They all watched as the town loner walks into the church, up to the belfry and hangs a huge paper sign out of the window. The sign ends up facing backward, and so was blank, then it tore.

The sign fell to the ground, unread, and the loner tried to call out his protest. No one could ever understand for sure what he was saying, so we never did find out what it was. He came out of the church, gathered his trash, and disappeared.
