Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Lorelai's dream, where did the real Paul Anka work in Stars Hollow?

Answer: Doose's

The episode opened with Lorelai on the phone with Rory. She told Rory all about her weird dream. The dream sequences are all shown in black and white, and basically interchanged the actions of the dog with the real Paul Anka. Her dog even sat on a table at the diner and gave a little concert.

The dream ended with the duo facing off in the street outside of Luke's. Then, the town was enveloped in a huge whiteout and everything went black!
2. April's school is named after whom?

Answer: Martin Van Buren

When Luke, and the other adults, are getting ready to board the school bus, you can see it written out on the side- Martin Van Buren Middle School. Luke was excited to spend the ten day trip with April, but also a bit sad to be away from Lorelai so long. Marshall Mathers is better known as rapper Eminem.
3. What interesting insect did Paris have jarred on her desk at the newspaper?

Answer: fruit flies

Rory told her to get them out of the news office, but Paris said she needed to study them for a paper she was doing. Rory reluctantly allowed her to keep them in the office, if she hurried up with her article. After Logan made his own protest, Rory defended Paris' fruit flies.
Spiders and scorpions are not insects, so that may have helped narrow the answer down.
4. Luke had a fun talk about Johnny Damon with a kid on the bus. We later learned that April had a crush on him. What was his name?

Answer: Freddy

Freddy and Luke discussed Johnny Damon being less intimidating since signing with the Yankees. George Steinbrenner enforces a dress code on his team, so Johnny's beard was gone and his hair shorter. Luke and Freddy thought it made him less intimidating to pitchers. Freddy was also known to be on a low sodium diet.
5. Rory walked in on Logan and his Life and Death Brigade pals discussing which two things?

Answer: Logan being out of Wild Turkey and their last planned stunt

Apparently, Logan was out of Wild Turkey and it annoyed the guys. Their discussion irritated Rory as well. They wanted their final Life and Death Brigade stunt to be an elaborate one. It started off with a trip to Costa Rica on a twin engine plane. They'd then base jump off of a 3600' cliff, and lastly white water raft three miles down a raging San Juan river.

The final stop would be the location of a blow out party. Rory found the entire plan risky and she was very annoyed.
6. Lane asked Lorelai to ruin her mother's old wedding dress so she would not have to wear it.

Answer: True

The dress was very old world style. It was an off-white color, with an extremely full bodice and matching pants underneath! Mrs. Kim asked Lorelai to take it in for Lane, and even brought Lane's height and arm length measurements with her. Lane grabbed Lorelai on the streets of Stars Hollow and requested she destroy the dress instead of altering it.
7. Finish Lane's quote to Lorelai. Lane: "It's all about the ______ baby."

Answer: Hamiltons

Lane held up a handful of ten dollar bills and said this quote to Lorelai. Unfortunately, Lorelai was totally distracted by the sight of her parents walking around town.
This line is a play on the popular phrase "all about the Benjamins", referring to Ben Franklin's face on the one hundred dollar bill. Alexander Hamilton, not a US President, faces the ten dollar bill. He was once the Secretary of the Treasury. George Washington faces the one dollar bill, Abe Lincoln faces the five dollar bill, Andrew Jackson has the twenty, Ulysses S. Grant graces the fifty, and our buddy Ben sits the one hundred.
Fun fact: When the fifty was first introduced as a U.S. note, it had Alexander Hamilton's face!
8. Which of these did Lorelai call Taylor Doose, when she was trying to scare her parents off from buying in Stars Hollow?

Answer: Both

Lorelai had her parents following her on foot around town. She kept saying everything smelled badly, though nothing did. At one point, Richard said she should report some of these annoyances to her town's mayor. Lorelai then replied, "oh you mean Gropey McGee?"
It was inside Doose's market that the Gilmores came to realize Taylor was Stars Hollow's mayor, and one of them said "this is Gropey McGee?" I believe it was Richard's comment.
It was when Taylor became super serious about his ice-cream brand, Aunt Molly, that Lorelai referred to him as "BTK". The notorious BTK killer is Dennis Rader. He claimed to have killed at least ten people in Kansas between 1974 and 1991. BTK stands for bind, torture and kill. Basically, Lorelai was calling Taylor a closet serial killer to scare off her parents.
9. Lorelai found Emily in Luke's playing Go Fish with a little girl she believed to be Luke's daughter. What was that little girl's name?

Answer: Cissy

Cissy looked to be around eight years old. I doubt Lorelai ever told her parents how old April was. When Emily realized it was not Luke's daughter, she became very irritated and said mean things about Cissy. When she found out Lorelai had never spent any time with April, she blamed Lorelai for the distance. She told Lorelai it was imperative that she get to know April.
Savannah Stehlin played Cissy. She can also be seen in Sarah Jessica Parker's 2005 film "The Family Stone".
10. Did Lorelai give in to Lane's request at the end of the episode?

Answer: Yes

Lorelai gave the wedding dress a long once-over as it dressed the mannequin. She ended the episode by pouring her coffee down the front of the dress, effectively ruining it for Lane's benefit.
Also, Rory kissed Jess in an attempt to cheat on Logan. This really hurt Jess' feelings, for which Rory apologized profusely.
