Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of Lane's relatives was a "wizard with the kimchi"?

Answer: Aunt Jun

According to Aunt Jun, "suffocating" it kept the spiciness down. Kimchi is a Korean preparation of fermented chili pepper and cabbage. It looked particularly unappetizing on the show, as well as on an online encyclopedia. Denice Kumagai also played Aunt Jun in "Last Week's Tights, This Week's Fights", where another wedding took place.
2. Lorelai could not come un-escorted to the wedding because Mrs. Kim's mother would not like it.

Answer: True

After Lorelai delivered Lane's wedding dress, Mrs. Kim received a phone call that left her visibly disturbed. She snapped out of her fog when she realized that her mother would not approve of Lorelai coming alone. The mysterious call was the unexpected announcement that Lane's grandmother would be leaving Korea to attend her wedding, and apparently Mrs. Kim was scared of her mother's disapproval. Sound familiar? Mrs. Kim said that at her age, Lorelai could not attend with a proper escort, and that Kirk did not count.
3. Paris wanted Rory to publish a point/counter-point article, with both sides written by Paris. What was the topic?

Answer: tenure

Paris had written an article both against, and for, tenure. She remarked how tenure made some professors lazy, but could also see what a great reward it was for years of great service. Rory told her that she had to pick a side. Tenure is when a person receives permanent employment within their profession. During tenure, their salaries are guaranteed and they do not worry about being laid off.
4. After agreeing to be Lorelai's wedding date, Michel compares his amazing dancing abilities to Denny Terrio.

Answer: True

Michel claimed that dancing was his "thing" to do at weddings and that Lorelai had better be prepared to match him. He even gave her a little demonstration of his skill at the Dragonfly, while she was on the phone with Chris. Denny Terrio hosted the popular TV series "Dance Fever" from 1979-1985, and then Adrian Zmed took over for the final two years. I could find no evidence of Denny working since his "Dance Fever" days, but Adrian has worked steadily since the 1980s.
5. When Sookie presented her cookie dilemma to Lorelai, which celebrity did Lorelai name the cookies?

Answer: Tommy Lee

Sookie was making "dirty cookies" for the bachelorette party bags. She claimed that maybe she used too much yeast, as parts of the cookie were larger than intended. That is when Lorelai looked at the cookies and said "hello Tommy Lee".
6. Did Lorelai tell Christopher that her status (unmarried, of a certain age, and the way she dressed) was also apparantly Korean for Jenna Jamison?

Answer: Yes

Christopher said that was fine, as he always wanted to meet Jenna Jamison. Jenna is an extremely successful adult film star.
7. How many wedding ceremonies did Lane and Zack attend?

Answer: 2

Zack wore blue silk, and Lane red silk, to the first ceremony. It was a Buddhist wedding for Mrs. Kim's mother. The two women began arguing during that ceremony, and Mrs. Kim's mom left immediately after it ended. When her mom's cab pulled away, Mrs. Kim told every one to hurry to the church for the second ceremony.

They had to hurry because the church had 58 seats and there were 62 Koreans! Mrs. Kim's mother had no idea her daughter was a Seventh-Day Adventist.
8. Is it true that Michel bailed out on being Lorelai's date in order to see Celine Dion for the sixth time?

Answer: Yes

Lorelai could not believe he'd bail out on her, as he'd already seen Celine five times! He said those other times he'd been way up in the balcony seats, and this time he'd get to sit front row. He hung up the phone saying he'd owe Lorelai big later in life, and that he'd bring her back a mouse pad!
9. Where did both the bachelor and bachelorette parties end up?

Answer: Brian's aunt's rec room

While Lane really wanted the two groups to stay apart, the women could not find any other avenue of fun. They'd all planned to see "American Gigolo" at the Black, White and Read Book Store. But, either Sookie messed up the time, or it had been printed wrong.
10. By the end of the episode, Rory, Christopher, and Lorelai all once had ownership of a T-mobile Sidekick.

Answer: True

Chris had bought himself and Rory one. But, Chris became a "Sidekick stalker" and couldn't stop texting Rory all the time! He apologized for stalking her and gave his Sidekick to Lorelai. Rory said that was even worse, and to prove her correctly, Lorelai demonstrated how it would be.

A T-mobile Sidekick is a cellphone that also allows you to send instant messages with another Sidekick user, has its own lettered keypad, and offers web browsing.
