Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Leslie Knope was the main character of the series and the special, but it was her husband who was shown first in the special. What elected office was he holding at the time of the episode?

Answer: U.S. Representative

Adam Scott played the character of Congressman Ben Wyatt for 97 episodes of the series and the special. The series had originally ran for 125 episodes from 2009-2015. Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt were each in every episode, while Aziz Ansari and Jim O'Heir each missed only one over the seven seasons. All six actors, as well as most of the other main cast members, returned for the special in 2020 that served as a fundraiser during the COVID-19 outbreak. Donations made to Feeding America during the broadcast of the show were matched by the TV network and several sponsors.
2. What idea did Ben Wyatt come up with while social distancing?

Answer: Making a movie

Ben Wyatt, after cleaning the house and getting dizzy, tried to homeschool his children. While they didn't learn anything, he did come up with an idea to make a claymation style movie based off a role-playing game he had created years earlier called "Cones of Dunshire". Leslie didn't think it was a good idea.
3. Who said they had been practicing social distancing since they were 4-years-old?

Answer: Ron Swanson

Ron said he was in his hunting cabin to get meat so he could avoid the grocery store. This was during a video call with Leslie, which happened daily at 7 p.m. He offered to send her some of his 12-year supply of venison jerky. They then talked about why she was still working during the global pandemic.
4. How long had Andy been locked in his shed?

Answer: 2 days

Andy, who often pretended to be a character named Bert Maclin (an FBI agent), had accidentally locked himself in the shed. Since Maclin wouldn't need help escaping, he refused to let his wife April let him out. Instead, they stayed separated.
5. Who was the mayor of Pawnee, Indiana?

Answer: Garry Gergich

Jerry, played by Jim O'Heir, had been elected mayor of the city, despite being the least liked person in the Parks and Rec department for most of the show. He was often shown to be dimwitted and inept, but little was known about him outside of work for most of the series.
So little was known about him, for five seasons they referred to him as Jerry, before finding out he just never corrected them that his name was Garry (short for Gerald).
He told the group that the city was upset when he had to cancel the annual popsicle "lick and pass".
6. Which character kept putting filters on their face while video conferencing?

Answer: Garry

Garry, playing off that he's often incompetent, wiped his phone screen and turned on a dog filter, then changed it several times while trying to shut it off. The final scene of the special was Gerry, still having issues with filters, and looking like a baby in a crib.
7. Leslie Knope was still working in government. What was her new job in the special?

Answer: Department of the Interior

Knope (Amy Poehler) had taken the job at the end of the final season of the show. She was still serving in that job in 2020. She was officially introduced as the Deputy Director of the Department of the Interior when she and Ben appeared on both "Pawnee Presents: At Home with Joan" and "Ya Heard with Perd" while promoting social distancing measures.
8. Which character appeared as Johnny Karate?

Answer: Andy

Andy was well known for playing characters during the show. Johnny Karate was one of those characters. He appeared on "Ya Heard with Perd" alongside Ben and Leslie to "talk to the children" of Pawnee, Indiana. Based on his video background, he was no longer locked in his shed at the time of the segment. He was able to be in character wearing his karate uniform.
9. Who came up with the idea to do a group video chat, instead of the phone tree?

Answer: Ron

Ron, after a video call with Leslie, found out that she was upset that she couldn't talk to all of her friends at once. He called April, and they (off-screen) worked out a plan to do the group chat. During a chat between Leslie and Ben, they all called in to surprise her.
10. Other than the group chat, what did they do to raise Leslie's spirits?

Answer: Sang a song

Ron set up the whole thing, Andy started the song, which was a tribute to the dead L'il Sebastian. He played the guitar, and they all joined in on the song.
After the song, they all hung up other than Ron, where he told her that he called all of her friends and said she needed them, so they cleared their schedules.
