At the office, Gob is running things horribly. He constantly thinks he's better than everyone, and begins the party while everyone's still working. Meanwhile, Lucille is afraid that someone has stolen all of the liquor in her apartment, but it was actually Gob who wanted to cut costs on the party.

Rather than go to his first day at the academy, Buster stays at the arcade with the skill claw game and tries to win the stuffed animals. When he returns home, Lucille is glad he's back because of all the stress she's been under. The seal foreshadows a major event in one of the future episodes.

Since Michael hosts the second party at the banana stand, Gob tries to get everyone to laugh again by dressing up as a banana. Eventually, people do laugh again because of the trouble the suit causes him.

After Oscar gives Lucille drugs, she slowly crushes everything at the Christmas party with her car (including Tobias) and she eventually crushes the banana stand with Gob inside. Buster, seeing the opportunity, finds a nearby crane and lifts Gob out of the stand. Unfortunately, he hadn't learned to drop the prizes in the game, and Gob was dropped into the ocean.
In the end, George Michael and Michael rebuild the banana stand, Gob gets his laughs, and Tobias gets the call from the Blue Man Group (only he can't hear the phone ringing).
