Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I Dream of Jeannie

Answer: Barbara Eden

Barbara Eden played the role of Jeannie, a genie who is released from thousands of years of captivity when Captain Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman) uncorked an empty bottle on a deserted island. Falling in love with her rescuer, Jeannie accompanies the captain back to his home where her presence provides ample situations to drive the sitcom's plot.
2. Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Answer: Melissa Joan Hart

"Sabrina the Teenage Witch" started out as a comic strip, part of the popular Archie comic books. As given away by the title, Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) is a teenager who suddenly finds out that she has magical powers. Living with her two aunts, Hilda and Zelda, both witches themselves, Sabrina has to come to terms with both the good and bad she can do with her powers.
3. Joanie Loves Chachi

Answer: Erin Moran

"Joanie Loves Chachi" was a spin-off of the popular sitcom "Happy Days". Joanie (Erin Moran) and Chachi (Scott Baio) met and fell in love on "Happy Days". In "Joanie Loves Chachi", they strike out on their own trying to form a band and make a success of their music career.

The series was short lived and the second season was cut short due to low ratings with both characters moving back to the original show for the final season.
4. Suddenly Susan

Answer: Brooke Shields

Movie star Brooke Shields had her first major television role as the title character in "Suddenly Susan". The show follows the life of Susan, a rich magazine writer who 'suddenly' finds herself having to live an independent life after breaking up with her fiance.
5. Caroline in the City

Answer: Lea Thompson

Another 90s sitcom, "Caroline in the City" had Lea Thompson play Caroline, a New York City cartoonist. The show also had a strong supporting cast of characters with Caroline often drawing on her friends and romantic interests for inspiration for her comic strip.
6. Will & Grace

Answer: Debra Messing

"Will & Grace" followed the lives of two best friends - Will, a gay lawyer and Grace, an interior designer. The two main characters had met during their student days at Columbia University and remained best friends ever since. Set in New York City, the show explored various themes connected to Will's homosexuality, though it did receive some criticism for playing to stereotypes.
7. Veronica's Closet

Answer: Kirstie Alley

"Veronica's Closet" starred Kirstie Alley in the lead role of Veronica Chase, owner of a lingerie company. Veronica had built a reputation for herself as a perfect wife and authority on romance. Ending her marriage over her husband's cheating ways, she now has to find a way to rebuild her life and reputation.
8. Dharma & Greg

Answer: Jenna Elfman

The titular couple of "Dharma & Greg" played by Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson were opposites in every way. Dharma is characterized as a hippie while Greg is a conservative corporate lawyer. Despite the stark differences in their personalities, they ended up getting married on their first date and notwithstanding constant disagreements, stayed together throughout the show.

The series earned Jenna Elfman a Golden Globe award for Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy in 1999.
9. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Answer: Sarah Michelle Gellar

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is a fantasy series that ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003. Buffy, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, is born a vampire slayer with the ability to fight against vampires, demons and other creatures of the dark. She is also helped by her friends Willow and Xander. The series' popularity resulted in a spin-off show called "Angel".
10. Ugly Betty

Answer: America Ferrera

"Ugly Betty" was based on a Colombian telenovela called "Yo soy Betty, la fea" which translates to "I am Betty, the Ugly one". Betty Suarez (America Ferrera) is a plain, awkward girl who finds herself suddenly working at a fashion magazine as the assistant to the Editor. Betty was hired mainly because her lack of good looks would keep her 'safe' from the womanizing boss.

This relatively simple plot seemed to have touched a chord with audiences around the world with local adaptations made in countries ranging from Greece, China, Egypt to India, Croatia, Thailand and Turkey to name a few.
