Tristan shows Rory one of the invitations, and Rory looks at it for a couple of seconds. If you look closely, it says that Lorelai Leigh was born at 4:03 in the morning on October 8th, and then invites the receiver of the invitation to Rory's birthday party. Also, the season 6 episode "Twenty-One is the Loneliest Number" originally aired on October 25th, 2005- the episode involves Rory's twenty-first birthday, and keeps the October consistency! And January 22nd is my birthday!

Lane Kim has always been Rory's best friend. Dean was someone who had just moved to Stars Hollow, and liked Rory. Dean became Rory's first boyfriend, as well as date and kiss. Paris and Rory became good friends some time after season 1, but Lane still remained what they both considered her "best" friend.
