Nelle said these words to John Cage at the beginning of this episode, after noticing his attempts to sneak up on her. A flustered John then revealed that his actions were due to "the mistletoe", prompting Nelle to respond with, "You were going to kiss me?" Replying in the affirmative, John then leaned in to kiss Nelle, only to be interrupted by Richard Fish, who appeared completely unaware that the pair resented his intrusion.

Early on in this episode, the dismissal of one of the firm's biggest clients brought its lawyers' Christmas festivities to a standstill. Confident and reassuring at first, Richard Fish assured his client, Sheldon Maxwell, that every member of staff would be on the case. However when Sheldon told his lawyers the reason for his dismissal, Richard Fish was rather taken aback. For Maxwell revealed that his bosses thought he had lost his mind as he had seen a unicorn in his office.

Following Sheldon Maxwell's revelation that he had seen a unicorn in his office, Billy asked John if he could "read the case on that Pinocchio kid", as "it might apply". This prompted Richard to reveal that it "was a long time ago", and "the child was John". As the rest of the lawyers laughed, a mortified John protested that he was only ten at the time, and had suffered "a reaction to soybeans".

After getting interrupted by Richard at the start of this episode, and then again by Ling and Georgia later on, John and Nelle did finally managed to steal a kiss at the end of this episode. However it was Nelle, and not John, who took charge. Informing John that it would not be his move, Nelle grabbed him and kissed him passionately.

When Ling entered the building, she was in an unusually good mood, and was seen greeting everyone merrily, and wishing them a Merry Christmas. As the characters looked on suspiciously, Ally retorted with "what's the catch?", prompting Ling to respond with "A person can't be in the Christmas spirit?"

Renée said this to Ally as the pair were looking in a shop window. Admiring the sleepwear in the window, Ally said "Imagine being inside of those", prompting Renée to respond with the above quotation. Ally then replied that happiness was "getting into bed with anything that makes you feel warm and snuggled", but she would "just now settle for pyjamas".

When Ally went home, she found Renée dancing in front of the Christmas tree. When asked what she was doing, Renée replied that she was listening to Ally's theme song (Haley Scarnato's "Tell Him") in her head. Revealing that it seemed to work, she then asked Ally to join her, resulting in the pair of them dancing manically around the Christmas tree.

When Renée demanded to know if Matt and his wife were "separated or not", he responded with "It's not easy, Renée. It's going to take a while." Accepting his answer, Renée then tried to get him to accompany her to the Christmas party, only for him to ask if they could just stay in. Realising that Matt did not want to be seen in public with her, Renée finally snapped, and told him that she was going to stop seeing him. For although she understood that he did not want to destroy his wife, she revealed that she was not going to let him destroy her either, and promptly showed him the door.
