Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who does Bernard encounter in the Sublime?

Answer: Akecheta

Bernard opens his eyes, awakening in the Sublime and passing through a series of cryptic places and images. A tree sets ablaze in a green pasture; a white horse runs through the town of Sweetwater moments before her turns to find the people of the village massacred in the streets; he passes illuminated screens in a dystopian cityscape to find a maze awaiting him.

At the end of his vision he looks up to find an ornate tower awaiting him. Inside, he finds the white horse but he also finds Akecheta waiting to speak to him. Bernard, he says, is stuck in a loop and revisiting the world of the past.

He can, however give him the gift of the future. He'll have to explore it if there's any hope of survival.
2. Before leaving the motel, Bernard tells Stubbs not to forget which of these?

Answer: Shovel

Bernard, seeing into the futures, finally sees where it's all headed. Knowing how it really ends, he sees a path and understands his fate: he will need to die.

Bernard, dusty and long in disuse, awakens from his sleep in an abandoned hotel room to find Stubbs already there. The two exchange pleasantries though it's clear it's been years since Bernard went into the Sublime. Before they leave, Bernard tells him not to forget the shovel. Sure enough, there's one outside; Stubbs tosses it into the trunk of their vehicle before the two depart. Bernard has to test a few things before they save the world.
3. The name of the bar in the 1920s-themed Delos park is which of these?

Answer: The Butterfly Club

Maeve and Caleb, disembarking from the platform in the new Delos park, find themselves in a 1920s gangster-themed world and Caleb, shocked by the realism of it all, finds himself unable to avoid distraction brought on by the sideshow around him. The pair pass investigators looking for wanted fugitive Hector 'Hecky' Armone; suffragettes hand out flyers on the street; a host drops a can only for it to be picked up and handed over by another in a programmed meetcute.

The two set their sights on the Butterfly Club where, hopefully, they can find answers, though Maeve worries they may need to die to get underground and find the control rooms.

They take a seat and, per Maeve's suggestion, wait for history to repeat itself.
4. Bernard and Stubbs visit a diner so that Bernard can gain his bearings. He says that he can save the future if he does which of these?

Answer: Triggers specific events

Bernard and Stubbs hit the road, travelling out to a desert diner with the intent to determine which path they're on, and it's there that things get weirder. As their order is taken and Bernard scopes out his surroundings, he's able to, uncannily, predict the future as though he's seen all possibilities.

In the Sublime, he saw all the worlds that could have been and all yet to come, but if he can trigger a certain series of events, then they have a chance of avoiding all destruction. Even something so simple as ordering the wrong sandwich could create a bad variant.

A man departs from the diner's bar without his bag and Bernard collects it to return to him, packing a knife into the sack on his way out. He goes out and beats up the man, knocking him unconscious and dragging him away.

It's all part of the plan.
5. Bernard and Stubbs are picked up by a driver who allows them to get into their car, but only when Bernard presents an image of which of these?

Answer: A maze

Caleb's daughter, Frankie, attempts to use an old radio to communicate with her dad when she's found by her mother and Caleb's friend, Carver. They gather their things as they plan to pack and leave for safety, but neither notices that something is wrong until it's too late. When Frankie and Uwade return to their car Frankie finds blood on her belongings, and Carver is acting weird.

Bernard hides the bodies in the trunk of his and Stubbs' car, grabs the shovel, and the two head out on foot to the road waiting for their ride to arrive. A van rolls up and Bernard presents an image of the maze. It's enough to grant them passage with the driver who, though initially cautious, finds out that Bernard has killed the men-- hosts rather-- that she was scheduled to pick up. For peace of mind, she has the two don zip-ties and blindfolds and they head out.
6. Who finds Carver's body in the garden?

Answer: Frankie

As the night continues in the Delos park, Maeve and Caleb watch as the stories unfold around them, even finding versions of herself and Clementine in the Butterfly Club, rehashing lines that she was scripted to say in Westworld. Soon enough, however, the action begins as the narrative leads to this world's version of Hector performing the heist at the bar, driving in guns blazing with his crew. Maeve kills both hosts and she and Caleb rescue the bar, using the bodies as bait for the park's undertakers.

Frankie and Uwade finish packing as Frankie gets a bad feeling about Carver. When she spies a spot of blood on the ground outside, she follows it to find the man's body, disposed of nearby. She tells her mother and the two act fast. While Uwade sends Frankie to hide, she fumbles to open the safe and load Caleb's gun.
7. When Caleb and Maeve head to the facilities below the new park, they find that something is amiss. What does Maeve determine to be the problem?

Answer: They're in another narrative in the park

Bernard and Stubbs are driven into contaminated land out in the desert, their driver taking them off-road to their destination out in the sands. When they're finally let out of the vehicle, they're asked to help, working together to deactivate a wall of lasers blocking their route. This time, when they reenter the vehicle, they can go unblindfolded.

At the Butterfly Club, Maeve and Caleb sneak onto a truck with the corpses picked up from in the bar. After being dropped unceremoniously into a hatch, the two rise from a pile of bodies and get their bearings. Maeve finds she has trouble using her capabilities to locate William and, worse, there's something off about this level of the facility. As this world's version of Dolores makes her grand entrance, Maeve realizes that it's all just another level of the game-- a recreation of the Westworld massacre, and there's a level beneath the one they're in. Provided they can survive the firefight, they can, hopefully, find answers.
8. It's discovered that hosts are infecting which of these with a strange, black goo?

Answer: Flies

Though Maeve is shot by one of the rebellious hosts, Caleb manages to protect her long enough for the two to locate a hidden elevator in the fake laboratory and, this time, it appears that they find the actual lab floor of the park, a sterile environment operated by unseeing hosts.

The labs here contain something more terrifying-- research that appears to revolve around some kind of parasite and a mysterious, black goo. Passing into the deeper chambers, the two find containers upon containers of flies that they appear to be infecting with the synthesized material. From behind the glass, the flies seem to be attracted to Caleb.

In the distance, Maeve hears a sound at a frequency that Caleb can not. That's the direction they head next.
9. It appears that Delos has created a new technology that allows them to control humans via which of these?

Answer: Frequencies

The host replacing Carver reenters the house to find Uwade and Frankie have taken to hiding and he draws his gun with the intent to kill them. Heading upstairs, he hears Frankie hiding in the closet and opens it to retrieve her.

In the labs, Maeve and Caleb come across another concerning room, this one containing a device designed to emit specific frequencies that can control humans. They watch as those being monitored are compelled, seemingly against their will, to commit suicide. When they turn to another screen, they find Caleb's daughter amongst those locked away. He rushes into the adjacent labs to search for her, and he does, moments before Maeve is able to open the locks and grant him access. He's able to stop her from loading the gun, but that's when Maeve is shocked to find William enter the room.
10. Which of these, according to Bernard, is out in the desert?

Answer: A weapon

In the desert, Bernard and Stubbs are taken to a rocky hillside to unite with their driver's companions, a group of rebels seeking to destroy the hosts who seek an uprising. Bernard offers to help, stating there's a weapon buried in the sands of the desert. He knows where it is and he can provide it to them.

Maeve and William quickly fight in the lab before Maeve is able to knock away his gun, grab it, and fire at him. It's enough of a distraction to separate her from Caleb, however. Caleb, in his daughter's cell, is helpless to realize he hasn't actually saved his daughter-- she's a host. Maeve is intercepted by William once again while Frankie locks her father into the cell.

At their home, Uwade is able to shoot the Carver host in the head, allowing her and Frankie to escape into the night.

The host Frankie, clutching onto Caleb's arms, tells him that Hale needs him to stay put. Opening her face, she releases a swarm of flies.
