Answer: Grade 1

Helen started at Grade 5 - Wing Governor in the very first episode of series 1, "Them and Us". She then became a Lifers' Liason Officer, which is Grade 4, in series 2, episode 7 - "The Set-Up". And finally, she went on to be Governing Governor - Grade 1, in series 3, episode 10 - "Chapel Of Love". I'm not sure what Grade 3 consists of.
2. In series 1, Helen was briefly engaged to man named Sean. But what was Sean's profession?

Answer: Gardening

Helen and Sean were briefly engaged, until Helen broke it off in episode 10 - "Love Hurts". She told Sean that she didn't love him, after realising her feelings for Nikki after their kiss the night, and episode, before. She returned to Larkhall, and he followed.

He set his wedding suit over a post in the prison garden and set fire to it, dropping Helen's key on the floor before walking away.
3. When Helen broke things off with Nikki in series3, she fell for the new SMO. What was his name?

Answer: Thomas

Dr Thomas Waugh was a friend to Helen, and when she ended her relationship with Nikki in episode 12 - "Tough Love", she rebounded straight into his arms. It was up to Fenner to reveal Helen and Nikki's affair to Thomas, and Thomas broke it off with Helen in episode 16 - "Coming Out".
4. What did Di find in Helen's filing cabinet, that Fenner later used to push Helen out of Larkhall for good?

Answer: Nurse's uniform

Although all of these were found, except the book, the nurse's uniform was the one in Helen's filing cabinet. The book found was actually in Nikki's cell, with a message from Helen. All of these gave Fenner enough evidence of Helen and Nikki's relationship to make Helen quit her job. This happened in series 3, episode 15 - "Cat And Mouse".
5. What was Helen's last "gift" to Karen?

Answer: Sexual assault report

When Helen had left Larkhall in Series 3, episode 16 - "Coming Out", Karen found an envelope on her desk. Inside the envelope was a report entitled, "Statement of sexual assault, commited by Jim Fenner against Helen Stewart".
6. Nikki's original sentence was Life, for murder of a policeman who tried to rape her then girlfriend, Trisha. What was the policeman's name?

Answer: Gossard

We first found out his name in series 1, episode 4 - "The Victim". DC Gossard had attempted to rape Trisha, so Nikki smashed a broken bottle over his head. He just laughed at her, so she stuck what was left of it in his neck, which killed him. In her original statement, Nikki said that "there was a hell of a lot of blood, and I didn't regret one drop of it". We first heard this statement in series 2, episode 7 - "The Set-Up", when Helen was reading Nikki's file.
7. When Helen got engaged, Nikki seemed "oddly" jealous. Where did Nikki let her feelings be known, by forcing Helen's hand upon her breast?

Answer: in the potting shed

Helen went to see Nikki in the shed, and wondered why Nikki seemed so bothered about the engagement. When asked what it was all about, Nikki responded by saying, "It's about this", and pulled Helen's hand up onto her breast. Helen was horrified and pulled away, running out of the shed. This was in series 1, episode 7 - "Playing With Fire".
8. Helen ended her relationship with Nikki in series 3, after the G-Wing riot. Nikki initially started the riot, with concerns for which new inmate?

Answer: Femi

When Nikki took a stand for Nigerian inmate Femi in episode 11 - "Battle Lines", the Peckam Boot Gang developed it into a riot that spiralled out of control. Helen was furious with Nikki for letting the riot happen and ended their relationship in the following episode.
9. After she and Helen split up, Nikki became involved with new inmate Caroline Lewis. Where did Helen find them kissing?

Answer: Library

Helen walked in on Nikki and Caroline's first kiss in the library in series 3, episode 12 - "Tough Love". Helen seemed jealous, and Nikki reminded her who had ended their relationship. Nikki told Helen that she had no right to have any views on her relationship with Caroline, and she stormed out of the library.
10. At Nikki's appeal, what was her original sentence reduced to?

Answer: Manslaughter - 3 years

Because Nikki had already served a sentence three years inside, she was set free from the Appeal Court. This was in series 3, episode 16 - "Coming Out".
11. Where did Helen and Nikki's first kiss occur?

Answer: G3

Helen and Nikki's first kiss, long-awaited for by viewers, occured in Nikki's cell on G3 in series 1, episode 9 - "Pay Back Time". Helen let herself into Nikki's cell, looking for some comfort after she was getting hassle from both sides - from her officers and from Stubberfield. Nikki responded with her heart instead of her head and planted a kiss on her. after a moment of hesitation, Helen left.
12. In the final episode of series 1, "Love Hurts", Nikki told Helen to put her down the block. What did Nikki describe as "rule forty-seven, subsection sixteen"?

Answer: being disrespectful to the wing governor... by kissing her

Helen: You had no right taking advantage of me.
Nikki: Well put me down the block then... go on... rule forty-seven, subsection sixteen - being disrespectful to the wing governor... by kissing her.
13. In which episode of series 2 did Helen have Nikki shipped out?

Answer: Episode 2 - "Shit Happens"

Helen waited by the prison van when Nikki was brought out but refuses to tell her where she was being sent. As the van pulled away, Helen had trouble holding back the tears. She was later seen in her office caressing the photograph attached to Nikki's file. Nikki was returned to Larkhall, where Helen told her she was resigning.
14. The final episode of series 2, "Oh What A Night!", included Nikki's escape. Nikki found a letter on Helen's bedside table. Who was it from?

Answer: Nikki's solicitor

Nikki found the letter from her solicitor and found out that her request for an appeal had been turned down. Realising she'll be facing at least another ten years inside, Nikki told Helen she's not returning to Larkhall. Helen knew this was wrong and dialled 999.
15. Both Helen and Nikki were last seen at the end of series 3, in episode 16 - "Coming Out", kissing and passionately making up. They decided to continue their relationship, after Helen revealed she still had loving feelings for Nikki. Finish this speech by Helen: "He's everything you would want in a man..."

Answer: but I want a woman

Helen met Nikki outside a bar, and told her that her relationship with Dr Waugh was over. This was the last scene we saw Helen and Nikki in:

Nikki: I thought it was a bit rude not asking you to stay for a drink.
Helen: Well, I figured that if I waited out here long enough...
Nikki: So, do you want to come back in?
Helen: I could stay for one I suppose.
Nikki: That is unless there's somewhere else you've got to be.
Helen: Thomas and I split up...I've been such an idiot Nikki!
Nikki: I know what you're saying.
Helen: No, let me say it...Thomas is gorgeous, he's everything you would want in a man...but I want a woman!
Nikki: We'll take things slow.
Helen: Yeah, dead slow.

After this, Helen had Nikki up against a wall, and the screen faded as they were kissing. As the screen went to black, except for Helen and Nikki's faces, writing went along the screen, saying "To be continued". Due to the unavailability of Simone Lahbib (Helen) and Mandana Jones (Nikki), the Helen-Nikki storyline was unable to continue into series 4.
