Ray was the biological father of Tad Martin (Tad was, eventually, adopted by Joe and Ruth Martin) and Jenny Gardner. Ray was most notorious for raping Ruth Martin. In the early 1980s, Ray set a bomb to explode at the Martin home but, when he realized that daughter Jenny was inside, he went into the home to try and diffuse the bomb. Everyone got out of the house before it exploded, except for Ray. Ray died in the explosion.

Derek Frye was wounded in the shootout but he survived. On the day of Tad's second wedding to Dixie, Tad chased Billy Clyde to a bridge and a bomb exploded that left Billy Clyde dead and Tad presumed dead.

Carter was a notorious wife beater and it was revealed, in 1992, that he abused his ex-wife, Galen Henderson. One night, Carter set the Dillons' home on fire and the fire left Natalie blinded for several months. While Natalie was blind, Carter impersonated an orderly at the hospital and got close to her and he kidnapped Natalie. Carter escaped to Corinth (the setting of the now cancelled ABC soap opera, "Loving") but Natalie was safe.

Bruce Thomas originated the part of Dr. Jonathan Kinder in late 1995. He became Erica's doctor when she fell and injured her back. He prescribed excessive amounts of painkillers to Erica and she became addicted. Dr. Kinder's wife, Toni (later revealed to be Skye Chandler), knew about how her husband practiced unauthorized experiments on the homeless and threatened to turn him in to the state medical board. Dr. Kinder kidnapped Toni/Skye and also kidnapped Janet Green since Janet was on to him. Dr. Kinder was, eventually, arrested and sent to prison.

Lee wanted to get revenge on Adam Chandler since he accused Adam of causing the death of his wife, Joy Hawkins. In the Summer of 1998, Lee kidnapped two of Adam's children, JR and Hayley. One day, Lee drew a tattoo of a rose with lead paint on Hayley and this caused her to be in pain for some time. Edmund and Mateo saved both JR and Hayley but Hayley received devastating news on how she could not have children for a while as a result of the poisonous tattoo.

James Patrick Stuart was the second actor to play Will from 1989 to 1992. He left the show in 1992 when they decided to kill Will off. However, Stuart returned in 1995 when Janet saw a man named Justin Carrier and devised a plan to pay him to impersonate Will so as to drive Dixie crazy. The plan flopped on Janet and Justin left town.

Vanessa was David Hayward's mother and was also the mother to Leo DuPres and Trey Kenyon (David's father was Charles Hayward, Leo's father was never revealed, and Trey's father was Richard Fields). When Erica tied up David in the basement of her house and put his hand in a vice to get revenge on him for causing her face to be scarred, David told Erica about how Vanessa goaded Charles into committing suicide. Erica felt sorry for David and she released him. David and Erica had a romantic relationship for about a year and were a popular couple for many "AMC" fans.

Helga went on a crime spree and her most famous crime was when she locked Erica in a crypt. Helga plunged to her death in Budapest, Hungary when she lept off a wall. Right before Helga died, she told both Edmund and Dimitri that they were brothers.

Tad brought Leslie Coulson back to town in September of 2001 so she could help him get revenge on David Hayward. An unbalanced Leslie ended up knocking Tad out on Halloween and kidnapping him. She hung a noose around Tad's neck about a week later, and kicked the stool where Tad's feet were planted. Jesse Hubbard's ghost got the stool to magically appear back under Tad's feet. Leslie was arrested and sent to prison.
