Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. It was a revolutionary discovery for exploring new areas. What is the common name for "an innerspace suit"?

Answer: scuba suit

This was one of Professor Wickwire's inventions for exploring beneath the water, something that hadn't been done in Brisco's time. It worked pretty good until Brisco broke the glass in the helmet. Luckily, he wasn't the one in the suit.
2. The army loved this new idea - what do we call a "mobile battle wagon"?

Answer: tank

Bowler was hired to stop this thing, but after his bullets didn't penetrate it, it proved to be harder to stop than he thought it would be.
3. It's not just found in pastures - what type of food was described as a "cow pie"?

Answer: hamburger

While most of us think of this as a steamy pile of manure (at least anyone that grew up on a farm with cattle), in Brisco's world, this was actually something created by Bowler's girlfriend Lenore. Bowler thought it could use a better name.
4. "Day glasses" were a snazzy new way to accessorize an outfit. What is the common name for them?

Answer: sun glasses

Aaron Viva came up with this invention because he didn't like the sun in his eyes.
5. "Steel horses" aren't nearly as smart as real horses. What's the common name for this mode of transportation?

Answer: motorcycles

Comet (Brisco's horse) was jealous of these motorized cycles because he couldn't run as fast as them. He did try once, but stopped short just before the vehicles went over a cliff. Another reason horses are better than motorcycles - horses have brains!
6. A "machinery gun" was the first of its kind in Brisco's world. In fact, after it was discovered, the government bought the patent for it. What do we call it today?

Answer: machine gun

Ned Zed, one of John Bly's gang, came up with this little contraption, but it wasn't like the machine guns of today. It was a gun with five barrels and looked to be taken off of one of those "mobile battle wagons" and modified so it could be carried.
7. A "rain bath" was a new way of cleaning oneself. What common name do we know this as?

Answer: shower

Donald Grayson came up with this idea in the episode "Bad Luck Betty." Betty O'Donnell, deputy sheriff of Midnightville, accidently walks in on Brisco while he's in this and finds him in the buff!
8. A "lighter than air ship" was an amazing discovery in the world of flight. What was it?

Answer: blimp

Another of Professor Wickwire's inventions. It ran on helium, and the first time out he had to bring Socrates Poole along to help him "pass gas" (for the ship that is)!
9. A "shock pistol" was a revolutionary way of catching a criminal. What is the common name for it today?

Answer: taser

Dr. Ambrose Carver came up with this and was showing it off an the bounty hunter's convention. It was a way to capture outlaws without actually killing them.
10. The last question didn't have an actual name, but it was implied. Brisco hurts this thumb in one episode. What does he invent as he's looking at it while walking down the road?

Answer: hitch hiking

This happened in the episode "The Orb Scholar."
