Bullock hands out invitations to the CIA carnival to several agents, and all of them leave except Stan. Stan stays behind to ask Bullock for a promotion to the newly opened position of Deputy Deputy Director. Bullock doesn't give the job to Stan right away, but instead says he has another urgent mission for Stan. Stan is excited, but in the next scene, Stan is seen in the dry cleaners waiting for Bullock's suit to be finished.

For the carnival, Francine, Stan, and Roger fold origami swans, to liven up the decorative aspects of the event. However, Roger folds his own design instead, stating that he can't do swans, and doesn't know why. Despite this, Francine and Stan do not make a fuss, and the whole matter with the origami swans is not mentioned or seen again.

Answer: defibrillate

Obviously poking fun at Cheney's heart problems, one of the booths is the "Defibrillate Dick Cheney" booth. It features Cheney laying on a table while children come up and use the defibrillators there to give Cheney's heart a jolt. One girl has trouble bringing herself to do so, so Cheney grabs the defibrillators and zaps himself, despite all the burn marks on his chest.

This is when the Blackberry falls out of his pocket and Steve picks it up.

Answer: fin rot

Throughout much of the episode, Klaus provides commentary on many of the happenings involving the Smiths. The first time he does this (about an argument between Stan and Francine), Stan asks him what he is doing, and Klaus responds that he is doing the commentary on his life because it is something to do while he is waiting to die of fin rot.

Answer: on the toilet

After Haley dumps Jeff and refuses to get back together with him, he goes into his van and cries, remembering the time he had with Haley and looking at her picture. When we see the picture, it is of Haley on the toilet, covering herself with one hand and pushing Jeff away with the other. Jeff says that that was the first time Haley lectured him about boundaries.

For one part of Jeff's training, Stan shows him a tank of scorpions and asks him if he is familiar with the show "Fear Factor". When Jeff replies in the affirmative, Stan tells him he will go on the car trip with Joe. This is the last straw for Jeff, who flat out refuses. Stan then tells Jeff that Jeff stood up to him and is now ready to get Haley back.

Answer: yellow

This magnet can always be seen on the Smiths' refrigerator. In the first episode, it is usually on orange. In most episodes it is usually on blue. In this scene, however, it is on yellow.

Answer: Deputy Deputy Director

The previous Deputy Deputy Director had to resign because he had cancer, and Stan believes he is the top contender to be the new one. Bullock, the Deputy Director, is in charge of this appointment, and since he is the Deputy Director, it is natural (albeit somewhat confusing) that the person right under him would be the Deputy Deputy Director.

Answer: Argentina

Steve and Roger, using Cheney's Blackberry, call various countries to poke fun at their cultures and current events. They do it often enough to believe they will not be caught. However, once they hang up after teasing Argentina for privatizing its energy department, the phone rings right away.

When Steve answers it, he realizes that Argentina dialed *69 to find out who he was. (Later on, Steve gets the idea to tell Argentina that they accidentally dialed New Zealand. Also, for some reason, Steve and Roger say that they dial actual countries, and not specific government officials.)

After Bullock calls Haley degrading names for leaving him and talking back to him, Stan finally has had enough and starts the fight in the diner. When Stan knocks Bullock to the floor (in front of the chalkboard), he replaces the specials with "PAIN" to express how well he is doing in his fight with Bullock.
