1. Episode Log S2E30 17 April, 1967. "My Master, The Swinging Bachelor". Oh no, Jeannie's cracked the spells again. She's gotten a case of the green eyes because she was not invited to her master's latest party and has laid the blame squarely on that very pretty young caterer. So she goes and does what genies do best - she's created mayhem by putting a curse on the cake and anyone who eats it ends up regressing to their childhood. The show is "I Dream of Jeannie" but who played Jeannie?

Answer: Barbara Eden

"I Dream of Jeannie" was created by the prolific writer Sidney Sheldon as a direct competitor to the ABC's "Bewitched" programme. It first went to air in 1965 and surprised most pundits by running successfully for five seasons. The premise of the series involves an astronaut, played by Larry Hagman, who finds a bottle that contains a 2,000 year old genie (Barbara Eden).

The comedy, whilst situational, is usually played upon the 2,000 year customs and sensibilities that the genie has been raised on and how they reflect in a modern society.

Answer: Spiderman

This series of animations ran for three seasons between 1967 and 1970 and represent the first television adaptations of Stan Lee's and Steve Ditko's web slinging super hero. The first season didn't feature our young protagonist at college instead basing his life as a freelance photographer working for the Daily Bugle, his confrontations with J. Jonah Jameson who thinks that Spiderman really is a criminal and Peter Parker's awkward attempts to date the office receptionist Betty Brant.

In between all this he is out matching wits and webs with the Green Goblin and Mysterio.

The second and third seasons were taken over by Ralph Bakshi who instituted a range of cost cutting measures that ultimately impacted on the quality and popularity of the series.

There are a number of episodes during these two seasons that draw on Peter Parker's school days.

3. Episode Log S1E9 18 November, 1970. "Epitaph For a Swinger" Sadly, one of the tenants from the singles apartment has been killed. They're actually calling it a murder and they reckon that jealousy is the motive. The main suspect however, is the wife of one of the Police Chief's best friends. Burt Reynolds plays the role of which detective that must tread very carefully in this episode?

Lieutenant Dan August is a homicide detective based in the fictional town of Santa Luisa in California. The programme first aired in 1970 and due to its initial lack of popularity did not get a second season. The lead role was played by Burt Reynolds in the days before his movie career took off and he became a box office star. Consequently, in later years, "Dan August" became a cult favourite and rated extremely well during its reruns.

4. Episode Log S13E1 19 September, 1971. "The Grand Swing". Jamie, Ben's adopted son, has wrecked the wagon today. Fortunately he is OK but one of the horses had to be put down. Problem is that Jamie has taken a route that he was told not to. Rather than going off the deep end Ben decides he should take Jamie for a tour of the ranch to see how everyone else does things and how they learn from their mistakes. Answer: Bonanza

"Bonanza" is one of the longest running television western series ever to air, running for fourteen seasons and a staggering 430 episodes. Its storyline revolves around Ben Cartwright, played by Lorne Greene, who has been widowed three times. His former wives were all of different ethnicities, English, Swedish and French, and each bore him one son; Adam played by Pernell Roberts, Eric (better known as Hoss) played by Dan Blocker and Joseph (Little Joe) played by Michael Landon.

The setting for the series is a beautiful and picturesque 600,000 acre ranch in Nevada called the Ponderosa.

5. Episode Log S4E2 2 December, 1973. "The Solid Gold Swingers". Lately we have seen a string of strangulations that have a touch of the psychotic about them. My thoughts are that it's something a little more sinister. I think that it's that brothel madam set to face trial soon who is knocking off her potentially incriminating witnesses. More importantly I reckon that the detective with the hat (who's from New Mexico, rides a horse and is played by Dennis Weaver) is also thinking that. Who is this detective in the hat?

Answer: McCloud

Dennis Weaver plays Marshall Sam McCloud who is sent to New York on a special assignment, gets embroiled in a murder case and, somehow, never seems to leave the place. Writer Herman Miller, who is listed as the character's creator, was responsible for the script for Don Siegel's 1968 movie "Coogan's Bluff", which had a similar premise.

The movie features Clint Eastwood in the role of a "cowboy" law officer who escorts a prisoner to the "big smoke". "McCloud" proved to be a big success for NBC, running for several seasons and gaining numerous Emmy nominations.

6. Episode Log S3E22 4 May, 1994. "Swing Time". Mother's Day is fast approaching and Jill has been making all these noises about wanting a herb garden. Tim, however, reckons that she doesn't need a herb garden she needs a hot tub and, with the help of the boys, rips out the swing set that the boys had grown up with. This triggers off a heap of memories for Jill and how time passes. After some philosophical advice from his good neighbour Wilson Wilson Jr Tim ends up putting back the swing set. "Home Improvement" was the television series that made Tim Allen famous and, to a lesser extent, launched the television career of Pamela Anderson. Anderson was a regular on the show during the first two seasons. The programme, a family situational comedy, was originally based on Tim Allen's stand-up routine, ran for nine seasons, garnered very high ratings and won numerous TV awards.

Answer: Just Shoot Me

"Just Shoot Me" is focussed around the lives of five regular characters who all work for a high end fashion magazine called Blush. Originally the programme was set up to capture the star power of Laura San Giacomo, however, it was not long before it became an ensemble production that reignited the careers of Wendie Malick, who plays the promiscuous former model Nina Van Horn, and George Segal who plays the magazine's owner and Laura's father on the show. Segal's character possess a number of Donald Trump like traits and, in this show, he is a business rival of Trump.

Despite numerous changes in time slots, which would eventually affect the show, the series managed to secure excellent ratings for the studio.

"Family Guy", which centres on the highly dysfunctional family the Griffins, is the brainchild of its main actor Seth McFarlane. The show ran for three seasons before it was axed by the Fox Broadcasting Company. During reruns the ratings began to climb quickly and, as a consequence, Fox renewed the contract.

Despite the obvious comparisons with "The Simpsons" "Family Guy" has managed to mark its own territory in the genre and has accumulated numerous Primetime Emmy and Annie award nominations.

"Heartland" is a Canadian family drama that has been inspired by the writings of Lauren Brooke. The series stars Amber Marshall, Chris Potter and Michelle Morgan.
