Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Only one of the six "Charlie's Angels" appeared for the entire run of the series. Which angel remained with the show for the full five season run of the series?

Answer: Kelly Garrett

The role of Kelly Garrett was the last role to be cast by the producers. The original concept was to have one brunette, one redhead, and one blonde. Kate Jackson was on board from the beginning of the project, cast as Sabrina Duncan, and was set to play the lead angel. Farrah Fawcett as Jill Monroe, was the next to join, completing the requirement for a blonde, but the producers dropped the hair color concept and brought in Jaclyn Smith (cast as Kelly Garrett) to complete the trio. In the story line, Kelly was an orphan who joined the Los Angeles Police Department before going to work for the Charles Townsend Investigation Agency.
2. In the first season of the series "Mannix", Joe Mannix worked for a detective agency. What was the name of the agency?

Answer: InterTech

Mannix did not like the fact that his cases were chosen by a computer, and he did not meet his clients before starting an assignment. In the second season, Mannix left InterTech and opened his own private investigation business. "Mannix" was considered at the time to be one of the most violent shows on television. Over the eight seasons of the series, Mannix was involved in numerous fights, knocked unconscious 55 times, and shot 17 times.
3. On "Magnum P.I., numerous references were made about the 'Lads'. Who were the Lads?

Answer: the estates' guard dogs

Higgins maintained two large Doberman named Zeus and Apollo to patrol and protect the grounds of the Robin Masters' estate. The dogs seem to enjoy chasing Magnum around the estate.
4. In the short lived 1973 television series "Shaft", who starred in the title role?

Answer: Richard Roundtree

Roundtree reprised his role from the movie for this ill-fated television series. When originally aired, the series was one of three elements that rotated in the Tuesday 9:30-11:00 time period on CBS during the 1973-1974 season. The other two series were "Hawkins" and "The New CBS Tuesday Night Movie". Shaft only produced seven episodes.
5. On the 1978 series "Vega$", who did Dan Tanna primarily employ to do his legwork?

Answer: Binzer

Binzer's seldom heard name was Bobby Borso. He often wore a pair of roller skates as he worked and ran errands for his boss, Dan Tanna. Binzer was played by Bart Braverman.
6. On the "Rockford Files", lead character Jim Rockford was an ex-con.

Answer: True

Rockford was an ex-con turned private investigator. Rockford served prison time for a robbery he didn't commit. Rockford received a full pardon for his crime, and became an easy going private investigator who specialized in handling closed cases, and avoiding any violence.
7. On the 1984 series "Mike Hammer" who played Hammer's secretary?

Answer: Lindsay Bloom

Bloom played the role of Mike Hammer's sultry secretary Velda.
Lindsey Bloom also won the titles of 'Miss Arizona 1972', and 'Miss USA' for 1972. Bloom was married to veteran actor Mayf Nutter.
8. On the 1985 series "Moonlighting", what was Maddie's profession before going into the private investigation business?

Answer: a model

Maddie, a top model, was betrayed by her investment adviser who flew with all of her money to South America, to become a casino owner. Maddie was left only with her house, and ownership of a run down detective agency. Maddie changed the name of the agency from 'City Angels' to 'Blue Moon', and planned to sell it.

The agency's only detective, David Addison, convinced her to join the agency as the new boss.
9. Who starred with Stephanie Zimbalist in the series "Remington Steele"?

Answer: Pierce Brosnan

In the series, Brosnan appeared as a nameless career criminal gone straight, with an amazing knowledge and obsession with classic cinema. Laura reluctantly accepted the offer of this mystery man, who assumed the identity of her fictional boss, Remington Steele. Laura had learned the hard way that even though she was a very competent private investigator, her potential clientèle was not comfortable with an agency named after a woman.
Brosnan is best remembered as the third actor to play super spy James Bond in more than two films.
10. The 1999 series "Sons of Thunder" featured two friends who decide to form a private investigation business. This series was a spin-off from what television series?

Answer: Walker, Texas Ranger

The series characters had recurring roles on "Walker, Texas Ranger".
The series, starring James Wlcek as Trent Malloy and Marco Sanchez as Carlos Sandoval aired only 6 episodes. Characters Cordel Walker (Chuck Norris) and Alex Cahill (Sherry J. Wilson) occasionally appeared on the show in their roles from "Walker, Texas Ranger".
