They become bitter adversaries after that point.

Of course, Oliver Crangle (Theodore Bikel) has his own conception of evil. However, his idea happens to backfire. His testimony with the FBI representative ends with some vitriol. Oliver proclaims that all evil people will end up being two feet tall. Judgement day approaches.

His parrot faithfully screeches, "nut." Oliver easily supplies the parrot with the treat. Now, it is 4 o'clock. His parrot again screeches, "nut." Oliver fails to be able to reach the cage due to his diminished stature.
